USF SafetyFlorida team supports Hurricane Ian recovery efforts

Following the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, many communities in Florida were faced with the daunting task of rebuilding after the second deadliest hurricane on record slammed into the state. The USF SafetyFlorida Consultation Program initiated outreach efforts to these devastated regions under the direction of the OSHA Region IV.

Oral pre-exposure prophylaxis is about 99 percent effective in reducing the risk of contracting HIV from sex, but that’s only if it’s taken daily. When users forget, lack motivation for taking a daily pill or experience barriers to getting the drug, risk goes up.

PhD student receives SOPHE/CDC Student Fellowship in Injury Prevention

Kelli Agrawal is a Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) student fellow in injury prevention. The fellowship, which runs from Sept. 2022 to July 2023, is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.
