Public health faculty contributes to ACS cancer report

In September, the American Cancer Society released Cancer Facts & Figures for Hispanic/Latino People 2024 on cancer.org in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The report was a collaboration between Anat Saka, Dr. Paulo Pinheiro and the COPH's Dr. Dina Martinez Tyson.

Grant Award Shout-out


The Activist Lab received a $500 Climate Justice Award from the American Public Health Association. The advocacy group aims to develop a documentary, resource guide (in Spanish and English) and additional collateral focused on climate change and migrant farm workers. The new resources will be included in the Activist Lab’s Adopt-a-School curriculum with Sligh Middle School.
