July 2024

Greetings!

As we step into the new academic and fiscal year, I am filled with excitement and optimism for the journey ahead. This time of year is always special as we welcome new students, residents, and partners into our vibrant community. Each new face brings fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and boundless energy that invigorates our mission and propels us forward.

We are particularly thrilled to announce the launch of our newly designed website. This refreshed platform not only offers an updated look but also enhances user experience with easier navigation, improved accessibility, and more comprehensive resources. Whether you are a student or experienced clinician seeking information on an upcoming training opportunity or a partner interested in collaborating on innovative research or projects, our new website is designed to serve your needs better.

Our commitment to interprofessional education and cutting-edge clinical simulation remains steadfast. As we embark on this new year, we are eager to expand our programs, foster deeper collaborations, and continue to set the standard for excellence in healthcare education and practice. The new website is a testament to our dedication to continuous improvement and our drive to provide the best possible resources for our community.

I encourage each of you to explore the new site and take full advantage of the enhanced features it offers. Your feedback is invaluable, so please share your thoughts and suggestions as we continue to refine and perfect this important tool.

International Collaboration

Leaders from various British health technology companies visited CAMLS, as part of the Association of British HealthTech Industries' (ABHI) Florida mission. During their visit, attendees were introduced to the extensive research initiatives at CAMLS. Participants toured our facility and learned about how CAMLS can support their research needs. We are proud to maintain a collaborative relationship with numerous organizations throughout the United Kingdom.

Community Activity

In June, we welcomed Orestes Destrade, former Major League Baseball player for the Florida Marlins, New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, and broadcaster for the Tampa Bay Rays. He is also a baseball legend in Japan, playing for the Seibu Lions of the Japan Pacific League. His visit was to discuss Sister City opportunities between Tampa and Japan. Accompanying Mr. Destrade is Alfred Goldberg, President of Tampa Sister Cities, Linman Li, Director of the Global Virus Network US SE, and Jesse Casanova, Associate Director USF Health International.

We partnered with Visit Tampa Bay to host medical meeting planners from around the country for their Healthcare Meetings Compliance certification provided by Meeting Professionals International.
