USHJA Offers 3-Foot Section at USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Session in 
New York
Opportunity for horses or riders at the 3-foot level to get the EAP experience

---- April 21, 2017 ----  The United States Hunter Jumper Association has opened a 3-foot section at the USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Session, June 12-16, at the Cazenovia College Equine Education Center in Cazenovia, New York.

Clinician Geoff Teall and expert stable manager Colleen Reed will lead the New York EAP Regional Training Session . Additionally, participants will take a special field trip to get a behind-the-scenes tour of John Madden Sales, Inc., home of Olympian Beezie Madden and her retired Olympic mounts, as well as hear an anatomy lecture from Dr. Carol Buckhout, assistant professor of equine business management at Cazenovia College.

Interested riders must meet the following criteria:
  • Current member of USHJA and in good standing
  • Must be younger than 21 on December 1 of the current competition year according to USEF rules
  • Proficient at completing jumper-style courses set at 3' or higher, documented by two letters of recommendation
  • Complete and return the online application to USHJA by no later than May 5, 2017
Applications for the 3-foot section will be reviewed on a rolling basis and slots will be filled first come, first served. Riders participating in the 3-foot section will have full access to all of the educational sessions during the regional training session but are not eligible for the National Training Session.

The USHJA is still accepting applications for the Late Summer Regional Training Sessions in Virginia, Texas, Massachusetts, California and Colorado until Friday, May 5, 2017.
