June 15, 2018
The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to open nominations for six Board of Directors positions
Secretary, Treasurer and four at-large directors. From June 15 to Aug. 15, USHJA Senior Active and Associate members may nominate candidates for these open positions through their
USHJA member account
Members are allowed to nominate a single individual for multiple positions, and they may nominate themselves for any available position.
The USHJA Nominating Committee will use the member nominations submitted during this two-month nomination period to identify a recommended slate of candidates. After careful review of all nominees, the Nominating Committee recommends a single individual for each position on the Board of Directors. At that time, the Board has 10 days within which to submit additional nominees for consideration by Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee will add those individuals to the voting ballot as long as the committee determines the nominees meet the established required criteria for the nominated position(s).

The USHJA Board of Directors consists of 22 Directors and maintains Athlete, Discipline Vice President-Hunter and Discipline Vice President-Jumper representation as well as ensures that a minimum of one third (1/3) of the Board of Directors members have designated Jumper as their primary discipline. The Board aims to be balanced in composition, consisting of individuals capable of providing diversified non-equestrian related business experience, in addition to those with deep Hunter and Jumper discipline specific knowledge.
In addition to the six board seats that will undergo the Nominating Committee process in 2018, there will be five Hunter Working Group and five Jumper Working Group representatives appointed by each working group to serve on the USHJA Board of Directors, each for a four-year term.
