Take Summer Classes
Summer Financial Aid
Summer is a great time to catch up or get ahead with your courses. Whether you attend another university and want to take classes while at home for summer, or you're a new student and want to get a head start before the Fall Semester, the instructions below will help you through the process. Search classes and check for availability!
If financial aid is needed to help with summer costs, it is recommended that students meet with a financial aid counselor prior to enrolling in Summer coursework to determine eligibility for financial assistance.

USI Foundation Scholarship Applications Available Through AwardSpring
The application process to receive a USI Foundation scholarship in the 2021-22 academic year is open. Applications must be submitted no later than January 15, 2021.

By submitting an application, current, incoming and transfer students become eligible to receive a scholarship from the USI Foundation; submitting an application does not guarantee students will receive a scholarship. A new scholarship application must be submitted each academic year. Students selected to receive a scholarship will be notified between March 15 and March 31, 2021.

 AwardSpring application accessible through myUSI.
Spring Bill and Payment Schedule
Spring Semester billing notices will be generated during the first week of December and payment is due by January 22, 2021.

Monthly student billing statements are sent by email to the student's USI email and their authorized users when there is a balance due to the student's account. Any balance not covered by a payment plan after the established due date will be considered past due, which will result in a hold on the student's account. The hold will prevent the student from registering for future classes or accessing their official transcript. More information about payment options can be found on the Student Financial Services website.
Filing the FAFSA Form
The 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available! Students should be completing their FAFSA for the current year and upcoming 2021-22 academic year. Students seeking Indiana state aid for Fall 2021 should file their 2021-22 FAFSA by April 15, 2021, the Indiana state deadline, to be considered for state aid.

If you have questions, you can email the Financial Aid Office at finaid@usi.edu or call 812-464-1767.

Safe Return to Campus for Spring 2021
When we return to classes on January 19 as previously communicated, we will temporarily do so in an online only capacity with a few exceptions for labs, practicums, clinicals and other areas that require in-person attendance. Classes will return to their previously scheduled modalities on February 8. You will be notified prior to Thanksgiving break if you are registered for a class that requires you to be back for in-person instructional activities on January 19.

You will find a list of important dates related to the end of Fall Semester and the start of Spring Semester. These dates are available on the Academic Calendar website. I encourage you to review this carefully for additional information that may be important to you as we finish out the year and begin the Spring Semester. As always, these plans are subject to change as we continue to monitor this pandemic and the guidance of health and government officials.
