Hello lifters!
We have had a tremendous year so far with many great meets across the United States! The USPA has had over 20 meets thus far, and have another 20 meets over the next three months! Congratulations to all of you who have lifted and congratulations to the meet directors on your successful events!
The USPA is continuing to grow nationwide! From novice to experienced lifters, I feel that the USPA has a lot to offer with our local meets, National, World and Expo invitationals.
I want you to be proud to lift in the USPA. Although I may not implement each idea initially, I do appreciate your emails and phone calls and want to thank each of you for reaching out to me!
There has been a lot going on this year, in front of and behind the scenes. One bit of exciting news is that Anthony (Tony) Pastorello of Las Vegas, NV and host of Las Vegas Power Hour, has accepted the position as Raw Vice President. Tony comes to the USPA with a wealth of knowledge and we are pleased to have him on the Executive Committee.
We also have also added the new position of Military Chairman, which George Rocheny has generously accepted to represent! George is a teammate at Orange County Strength Club and is also serves in the United States Coast Guard stationed in Long Beach, CA. George will be in charge of all military records as well as the liaison and go between for all military branches. George is a great guy and will be an asset to the USPA!
We have had an overwhelming response from lifters who are interested in participating in and representing the USPA in their respective state! We have added five new states as affiliates and two new chairman in TX and WA. We have a total of 22 states being represented! Please welcome the following new State Chairmen to the USPA!
Illinois-Matt Houser
Kentucky-Brandon Lilly
Mississippi-John Micka
Ohio-Chris Smith
Pennsylvania-Dave Barth
Texas-Robert Gallegos
Washington-Don Goldsworthy
As always, a big THANK YOU to our dedicated referees', supportive EC members, fantastic meet directors and the hard-working spotters and loaders!
And, thank you to to all of you for your continued support! The success of the USPA, and the success of powerlifting, is because of you!
Train hard, train smart!
