Shell to invest up to $2 bln annually to explore, produce oil in Brazil through 2025 -report

Reuters.com, October 18, 2018: Royal Dutch Shell plans to invest $1 billion to $2 billion annually in oil exploration and production in Brazil through 2025, Brazilian newspaper Valor Economico reported on Thursday. The investment will be made regardless of the outcome of presidential election Oct. 28, Wael Sawan, executive vice president for Shell's deepwater division, said in an interview with Valor.  Read more...
Lukoil begins construction on infrastructure facilities at Rakushechnoye field

Compelo.com, October 17, 2018: Russian energy giant Lukoil has started construction of infrastructure facilities associated with the Rakushechnoye field development project in the Caspian Sea. Located 160km from the Astrakhan port in Russia, the Rakushechnoye field is expected to be brought into commercial oil production in 2023. The anticipated oil production plateau from the Caspian Sea field is 1.2 million tonnes per year.  Read more...

Russia coal production rises 7% in January-September

Hellenicshippingnews.com, October 18, 2018: Russian coal production rose 7% in the first three-quarters of the year to 324m tonnes, thanks to improved logistics infrastructure and relatively strong export demand, official data showed. The total was nearly 7m tonnes higher than provisional government estimates published earlier this month. Russia has actively upgraded its ageing port and rail infrastructure over the past couple of years, while healthy demand for seaborne supplies from European and Asian buyers has also encouraged higher production levels.  Read more...
Russia, Egypt to sign subcontractor agreements for NPP construction by year-end

Tass.com, October 17, 2018: Interaction between Moscow and Cairo in the energy sphere is important, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Wednesday. "We discussed in detail issues of bilateral interaction in the energy sector," the Russian President said after talks. "The key joint project in this sphere is construction of a nuclear power plant of the Russian design in Egypt by Rosatom," Putin said. "Preparatory activities started on the site. Contracts with Egyptian companies intended to be proactively engaged as subcontractors are planned to be signed by the year-end," he noted.  Read more...
Russia-Africa Summit May Be Held In Late 2019 - Russia-Uganda Working Group Chair

Urdupoint.com, October 16, 2018: The first Russia-Africa summit  may take place at the end of  2019, Andrey Rashin, co-chair of the Russia-Uganda Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and CEO of the Northern Mines  company, told Sputnik on Tuesday.  "I have information that the summit will probably be held at the end of next year. But where it will be held is still unknown ... For us, it is the start of hard work, because we need to do it as quickly as possible, because we are not alone here [in Africa]," he said.  Read more...
Russian-Italian council for cooperation to convene in Rome on December 17-18

Tass.com, October 17, 2018: A regular meeting of the Russian-Italian Council for Economic, Industrial and Monetary Cooperation is scheduled for December 17-18 in Rome, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said on Wednesday. Speaking at the assembly of the Russian mission at Italy's association of entrepreneurs and manufacturers Confindustria Russia, Grushko said: "A regular full-fledged meeting is due to be convened in Rome on December 17-18."  Read more...
Russian Oil Production Up 1% Year-on-Year In January-September - Statistics Service

Urdupoint.com, October 17, 2018: Russian production of oil, including gas condensate, increased by 1 percent year-on-year between January and September, while gas production surged by 7 percent, data of the Russian Federal State Statistics Service showed on Friday. According to the statistics service, Russia's oil and gas condensate production in September was up 4.9 percent year-on-year to 46.6 million tonnes (about 333 million barrels). Russian gas production in September increased by 5. 3 percent year-on-year and by 6.4 percent from August to 50.5 billion cubic meters (1.78 trillion cubic feet).  Read more...
Uganda, Russia sign ICT Pact

Newvision.co.ug, October 18, 2018: Uganda and Russia have signed an agreement to cooperate in the field of Information Communication Technology. Among other things, the countries will cooperate in parcel transportation, radio telecommunications, conduct joint research and training and support each other in enforcing open government data and openness of state bodies. Other areas of cooperation will include network security, issuance of electronic IDs of citizens and information systems in healthcare and ICT regulation.  Read more...
Ecommerce in Russia will grow 170% next five years

Ecommercenews.eu, October 16, 2018: Ecommerce in Russia is showing an active growth. Last year, it was worth 13.7 billion euros and for this year it's predicted to be worth 17 billion euros. And by 2023, the Russian ecommerce industry is predicted to grow to almost 46 billion euros. This would mean an increase of 170 percent in the next five years. The predictions come from a Morgan Stanley  report on ecommerce in Russia. The analyst claim Russia is the last major emerging market without a dominant online retailer. But they think the country is at an inflection point and predict a leader "being worth over 8.5 billion euros" will emerge by 2020.  Read more...
Fifa World Cup boosted Russia's economy by $14 billion, say organisers

Scroll.in, October 16, 2018: The 2018 World Cup added more than $14 billion to the Russian economy, more than one percent of the country's gross domestic product, tournament organisers said in Doha on Tuesday. The figure was revealed in a report on the economic, social and environmental impact of the tournament by Alexey Sorokin, the CEO of Russia's World Cup organising committee. "The figure the report comes up with is quite surprising," Sorokin told a football conference in Qatar, which is the host of the next World Cup in 2022.  Read more...

Armenia-Russia trade turnover grows by 26% in January-June 2018

Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran connect power systems

Azernews.az, October 15, 2018: The meeting of the trilateral working group on linking the energy systems of Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran was held in Moscow on October 13. This was stated in the message on the official website of the Russian Ministry. Coordination of the overall project model and the main aspects of the feasibility study of the interconnection of the power systems of the three countries was the main topic of negotiations.  Read more...
Russia, Uzbekistan may sign contract on construction of nuke plant in spring 2019 - Rosatom

Akipress.com, October 18, 2018: Russia and Uzbekistan may sign a contract for construction of the nuclear power plant in spring 2019, Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev told RIA Novosti. "It will be a historic victory if the contract is signed in spring," he said. Russia and Uzbekistan signed the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in construction of the atomic power plant in Uzbekistan by Russian project. В первом квартале 2018/19 МГ Россия увеличила экспорт зерна почти на 30% - Россельхознадзор

Apk-inform.com, 18 октября,2018: По итогам первых 3 месяцев 2018/19 МГ Россия экспортировала 16,2 млн. тонн зерновых культур, что на 29% (на 3,6 млн. тонн) превосходит показатель аналогичного периода сезоном ранее. Об этом 18 октября сообщила пресс-служба Россельхознадзора со ссылкой на данные, полученные из выданных ведомством фитосанитарных сертификатов. В частности, в отчетный период отмечается существенное увеличение отгрузок ржи - почти в 5 раз, до 110,91 тыс. тонн против 23,76 тыс. тонн за аналогичный период прошлого года. Наибольшие объемы зерновой в июле-сентябре отгружались в Латвию - 88,99 тыс. тонн и Беларусь - 14,05 тыс. тонн.  Читать далее...
Россия. Экспорт подсолнечного масла в сезоне-2017/18 обновил рекорд

Ukragroconsult.com, 16 октября, 2018: По итогам сезона-2017/18 Россия экспортировала рекордный объем подсолнечного масла. Как следует из данных ФТС, с сентября 2017 года по август 2018-го за рубеж было отгружено 2,3 млн т подсолнечного масла против 2,1 млн т сезоном ранее.
