Russia's Gazprom eyes more supply contracts from Europe: Minister

Borneobulletin.com.bn, December 26, 2018: Russian energy giant Gazprom is expected to set a new record for the annual amount of gas deliveries to Europe, indicating the need for new contracts with partners from the continent, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said yesterday. "This year we had an interesting event: for Gazprom's long-term export contracts have met the maximum annual amount of gas. This means the need to conclude additional pipeline contracts," Novak told Russia's Kommersant newspaper in an interview.  Read more...
Shell Doubles Renewables Investment

Oilprice.com, December 26, 2018: Shell plans to increase the annual amount of money it invests in renewable energy to US$4 billion, the supermajor's head of gas and new energy, Maarten Wetselaar told The Guardian in an  interview. The figure is double the maximum current annual investment Shell has allocated for cleaner energy initiatives but the increase will only materialize if these initial investments prove to make financial sense.  Read more...

Pak-Russia bilateral trade to reach US$800 million by year end

Brecorder.com, December 28, 2018: Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Russia improved to US$660 million during 10 months of the current calendar year which is expected to reach around US$750 to US$800 million by year end. According to an official of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Trade representative of Russia, Yury Kozlov, during his visit to the chamber said there existed huge potential to boost the current trade volume between the two countries.  Read more...
Russia's Sakhalin Island could provide China with more energy

Rt.com, December 26, 2018: Russia is considering boosting exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to China. The LNG would come from its largest island, Sakhalin, to fulfil Beijing's growing energy demand, Russia's envoy to the country has revealed. "There are plans to supply liquefied gas to China not only from the Yamal [LNG plant], but also from Sakhalin. It can be partly supplied in the form of liquefied natural gas, and a pipeline may eventually be built," ambassador Andrey Denisov told journalists on Wednesday.  Read more...
Russia Invited to Participate in Venezuela's Gold Mining Projects - Ambassador

Sputniknews.com, December 26, 2018: Caracas has offered a number of proposals to Moscow regarding its potential participation in the country's gold mining projects, Russian Ambassador to Venezuela Vladimir Zaemsky told Sputnik on Wednesday. "In the context of Russia's participation in gold mining and other mining projects, I would like to note that the Venezuelan side has offered a number of interesting proposals, which are currently under consideration by interested Russian economic operators," Zaemsky said.  Read more...
Russia's Nord Stream 2 pipeline begins construction in Finland

Helsinkitimes.fi, December 27, 2018: The world's largest pipelay vessel, Pioneering Spirit, recently sailed into Finnish waters to assist in the construction of one of Russia's largest infrastructure projects in Europe.  Nord Stream 2, which will operate in Russia, Finland, Sweden, and Germany when completed, is being built to facilitate the transfer of natural gas exports from Russia to the EU. It has been estimated that this single pipeline will account for the transit of over half of all Russian gas sales to Europe.  Read more...
Russia's Novatek inks MOU with Japan's Saibu for Asia-Pacific LNG optimization

Spglobal.com, December 27, 2018: Russia's Novatek said Thursday it had agreed a provisional deal with Japan's Saibu Gas to optimize its LNG portfolio through the use of Saibu's 3.5 million mt/year Hibiki LNG import terminal in Japan. Novatek operates the 16.5 million mt/year Yamal LNG plant in northern Russia and also plans to take final investment decision on the planned 19.8 million mt/year Arctic LNG-2 plant next year. Since Yamal LNG started up in December last year, many cargoes have stayed in Europe, but Novatek has signaled that the Asia-Pacific region would be a key market for its LNG.  Read more...
Efforts on to increase Indo-Russian bilateral trade to $30bn 

Timesofindia.indiatimes.com, December 27, 2018: Plans were on to more than triple the bilateral trade between India and Russia to $30 billion by 2025, a Russian diplomat here said on Thursday. The bilateral trade grew by 21 per cent to $9.3 billion in 2017 as against $7.7 billion in the previous year,Consul General of the Russian Federation in Chennai Oleg N Avdeev said.  Read more...
Turkey was Russian tourists' top destination in 2018 

Hurriyetdailynews.com, December 27, 2018: Turkey was the most popular foreign destination for  Russian  tourists in  2018, with visitor numbers rising 25 percent, said a trade group on Dec. 26. The overall  Russian tourist flow grew 8 percent in  2018 compared to the previous year, Maya Lomidze, head of the  Russian Association of Tour Operators, told a news conference in Moscow. This growth was ensured thanks to high demand for tours to several countries, including Turkey, she said.  Read more...

Russia, Azerbaijan to deepen bilateral economic ties in 2019, vows envoy to Baku

Tass.com, December 24, 2018: The upcoming year will see a surge in economic cooperation between Moscow and Baku, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mikhail Bocharnikov, told a press conference in the Azerbaijani capital on Monday. "Next year, the priority will be to fulfil the agreements reached this year, primarily those regarding the development of economic ties. We have adopted essential documents: a program on bilateral cooperation in the economic area until 2024 and an action plan for economic cooperation consisting of five roadmaps for the same period. In general, our economic collaboration will deepen in 2019," the ambassador vowed. He stressed that the Russian side expects that the reached agreements will be given specific content.  Read more...
Financial watchdogs review Belarus-Russia Union State budget bill for 2019

Eng.belta.by, December 26, 2018: Belarus' State Control Committee and the Accounts Chamber of Russia have prepared an assessment of the Union State budget bill for 2019, BelTA learned from Belarus' State Control Committee. In 2019 the budget is projected to receive RUB7.245 billion and to spend RUB6,325.7 billion. The budget surplus is projected at RUB919.3 million. Most of expenditures will be spent on 11 Union State programs - 65.8% (RUB4,159.95 billion). Two more projects will be implemented next year, with the total budget at RUB234.7 million: "Major repairs, restoration and conservation of the structures of the Brest Fortress in the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex" and "The development of educational and scientific activities with the use of innovative technologies of the Belarusian-Russian University".  Read more...
Putin: Trade turnover between Armenia and Russia grows

News.am, December 27, 2018: The trade turnover between Armenia and Russia grows and it is necessary to preserve the existing dynamics, Russia's president Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with Armenia's acting PM Nikol Pashinyan, TASS reported. "No need to describe our relations . We have really allied relations," Russian president said. He stressed in particular that Russia is number one Armenia's partner, with bilateral trade-turnover growing by 30% in 2017. "During the ten months of this year the trade turnover has grown by another 17.5%. Мантуров заявил о готовности России строить железные дороги в Таиланде

Россия почти на 30% нарастила экспорт в страны ЕС

Regnum.ru, 27 декабря, 2018: В период с января по сентябрь 2018 года товарооборот между Россией и Евросоюзом вырос на 21,5% в сравнении с аналогичным периодом 2017 года, заявил рассказал постпред РФ при ЕС Владимир Чижов. Об этом пишут 27 декабря «Известия». По словам дипломата, Россия стала на 7,4% больше ввозить продукции из ЕС и на 29% больше - экспортировать. Россия увеличила экспорт продукции АПК на 20%

Apk-inform.com, 27 декабря, 2018: Согласно данным Министерства сельского хозяйства России, по состоянию на середину декабря т.г. экспортировано сельхозпродукции на сумму $24,3 млрд., что превышает показатель прошлого года на 20%. По словам министра сельского хозяйства России Дмитрия Патрушева, данных результатов удалось достичь за счет увеличения поставок мясной и молочной продукции, а также продукции пищевой и перерабатывающей промышленности.  Ожидается, что в 2019 г. экспорт продукции масложировой отрасли может вырасти на четверть и составить порядка $4 млрд. Кроме того, существенного роста Минсельхоз ожидает и в части поставок мясной и молочной продукции. В следующем году экспорт по этому направлению может увеличиться на 73%, превысив $1,1 млрд.  Читать далее...
