ExxonMobil to begin construction on Beaumont refinery expansion

Chron.com, January 30, 2019: Exxon Mobil began construction Tuesday on an expansion to its refinery in Beaumont after reaching a final investment decision. The expansion, expected to start up in 2022, will increase the refinery's capacity by 250,000 barrels per day - equivalent to a 65 percent increase in current capacity. When complete, the refinery will be among the nation's largest.  Read more...
Turkish Airlines announces Gatwick-Antalya service

Ttgmedia.com, January 31, 2019: Turkish Airlines on Thursday (January 31) announced a new twice-weekly Gatwick to Antalya service, launching on April 4. Flights will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays. Celal Baykal, Turkish Airlines general manager London, said: "We've introduced this new Turkish Airlines route in direct response to the rise in passengers looking to travel to this destination.  Read more...
Gazprom Looks To Attract $14B For Russia's Biggest Gas Processing Plant

Oilprice.com, January 29, 2019: Gazprom is in discussions with banks as it looks to attract in 2020 project financing of US$14 billion for the construction of its Amur gas processing plant, which will be Russia's largest and the second-largest in the world, Gazprom manager Alexander Ivannikov, who is responsible for the company's financial and economic policy, told  Russian media  on Monday.  Read more...

Russia's coal export reach record highs

Hellenicshippingnews.com, February 1, 2019: Russia's coal export exceeded 200 million tons in 2018, surpassing a Soviet record, Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Anatoly Yanovsky said. In late December of last year, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia plans to produce 433.6 million tonnes of coal, a 6% increase in comparison to 2017, while coal exports were also expected to grow 4.1% to 194 million tonnes, RIA Novosti recalls.  Read more...
CONCOR signs pact with Russia firm to explore logistics opportunities

Outlookindia.com, January 30, 2019:  State-run CONCOR Wednesday said it has inked a pact with Russia's JSC RZD Logistics to explore opportunities in the logistics sector. "An MoU (memorandum of understanding) has been signed between CONCOR and JSC RZD Logistics, Russia, for exploring the logistics opportunities in Russia, India and International corridors, including but not limited to the International North South Transportation Corridor," it said in a BSE filing. CONCOR was incorporated in March 1988 under the Companies Act and commenced operation from November 1989 taking over the existing network of 7 inland container depots (ICDs) from the Indian Railways.  Read more...
Russia may start producing Lada vehicles in Algeria

Tass.com, January 30, 2019: Russia and Algeria have discussed the possibility of starting production of the Russian Lada car in that African country, Energy Minister and co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission with Algeria, Alexander Novak, told reporters.  "We also discussed the possibility of setting local production of the Russian Lada car," he said. Novak noted that the parties also discussed the possibility of building a plant for the production of building materials in Algeria, increasing the supply of pipe metallurgical products and grain, as well as deliveries of Russian medicines, implementing joint projects on cybersecurity.  Read more...
Head of Skolkovo Foundation gets interested in Kazakhstan's projects
Inform.kz, February 1, 2019: Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation Arkady Dvorkovich has visited today the Almaty TechnoPark and became interested in Kazakhstan's innovation projects, Kazinform correspondent reports. "In my opinion, this forum is a great opportunity to compare and see how the innovation process is developing in our countries. We are close to each other both in culture and regulation. We have free space for the movement of goods and services. Now we need to focus on the groundbreaking directions, on new technologies. Here, prime ministers and other forum members can discuss how to do it. We do it in practice - it is work on technology parks. It is important to make this process involve ministries, big companies, and other institutions to support investment and innovation. Russia to launch 3 resupply ships and 3 manned spacecraft to orbital outpost this year

Tass.com, January 31, 2019: Russian carrier rockets will launch three Progress MS resupply ships and three Soyuz MS manned spacecraft with new crews from the Baikonur Cosmodrome to the International Space Station (ISS) this year, a source in the domestic space industry told TASS on Thursday. "Pursuant to the schedule of launches to the ISS for this year, which Roscosmos [State Space Corporation] is due to approve, three Progress MS resupply ships and three Soyuz MS spacecraft are planned to be launched," the source said.  Read more...
The Irkutsk Oil Company helps boost Russia's economy

Globenewswire.com, January 30, 2019: According to the OPEC, Russia has the world's largest natural gas reserves - standing at an estimated 49 trillion cubic metres. These have greatly spurred on the country's economic growth. What's less known, however, is that Russia also has many unused resources that could enhance its performance all the more. Eastern Siberia, in particular, is a region that has many untapped oil and gas reserves. These have not been exploited, due to the fact that many contain either large volumes of associated petroleum gas dissolved in oil, or free gas. Russia interested in new economic projects with Iraq

Tass.com, January 30, 2019: Moscow is interested in developing existing and opening new projects for economic cooperation in Iraq, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday after talks with Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Alhakim.  "We are very interested in increasing our trade, economic and investment ties. In the investment and in the hydrocarbon sector, there are very good results: Lukoil, Gazprom Neft, Soyuzneftegaz are already working, Rosneft is showing interest to projects in Iraq. Russian firm to sponsor Kenyan students study nuclear science

Mobile.nation.co.ke, January 28, 2019: Russian nuclear energy corporation, Rosatom, has offered to sponsor bright Kenyan students planning to study for an undergraduate degree in Nuclear Science at two Russian universities. In a statement to newsrooms, Rosatom said it will pay full tuition fees and partially cater for living expenses for the students admitted to the National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI) in Central Russia and Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) in Siberia.  Read more...
Houston - Tyumen Sister Cities
Team of scientific and educative center formed in Tyumen

Tass.com, January 29, 2019: The University of Tyumen hosted a four-day strategic session to form a team of the inter-regional scientific and educative center, the university's press service told TASS on Tuesday. "We have actually formed the 'nucleus' of the team that will work to create and organize the inter-regional scientific and educative center in the Tyumen Region," the university's spokesman said, adding that the team work will later continue in the Yamal-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi regions to discuss the development of the oil and gas sphere and Arctic technologies. The session brought together representatives of the region's universities and major companies, leading scientists and government officials.   Read more...

This was said at the meeting between First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin and General Director of JSC Peterburgsky Tractorny Zavod Sergey Serebryakov on January 29 in Astana, the  official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported. At the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of agricultural engineering between Kazakhstan and Russia, issues of locating the production of Russian Kirovets tractors at the site of Agromash Holding KZ in Kostanay, as well as deepening the production localization in Kazakhstan.  Read more...

Belarusian buses enter passenger service in Russia's Lipetsk

Eng.belta.by, January 31, 2019: Nine Belarus-made MAZ-103 buses were delivered to Russia's Lipetsk at the end of January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia. The vehicles were transferred to the Lipetsk passenger transport company. Lipetsk Mayor Sergei Ivanov attended an official key handover ceremony. Before placing the order with the Minsk bus manufacturer, Lipetsk transportation experts tested buses on the busiest routes connecting different areas of the regional center.  Read more...

Россия в 2018 году увеличила экспорт рыбы и морепродуктов на 4 %

Sfera.fm, 31 января, 2019: В прошлом году Россия увеличила экспорт рыбной продукции на 4,4 %, по сравнению с 2017 годом. Этот показатель достиг уровня в 2,24 млн тонн. При этом импорт рыбной продукции снизился на 0,5 % - до 596 тыс. тонн. По данным Росстата, в 2018 году на 5,3 % увеличился экспорт ракообразных, моллюсков и других беспозвоночных, и этот показатель составил 126,5 тыс. тонн. Экспорт газа из России в Молдавию вырос на 8,4%

Экспорт из России в Хорватию вырос на 50%

M.rusexporter.ru, 31 января, 2019: В структуре товарооборота двух стран преобладает российский экспорт с долей 85,1%, импорт занимает 14,9%. Рост товарооборота также обусловлен увлечением экспортных поставок из России (+49,5% по отношению к аналогичному периоду 2017 года). Российский импорт из Хорватии сократился на 20,5%. За указанный период экспорт из России в Хорватию составил $1,08 млрд. Ключевыми статьями российского экспорта стали нефть и нефтепродукты (92%), необработанный алюминий (3,8%), калийные удобрения (0,7%), каменный уголь (0,7%) прокат плоский из железа и нелегированной стали (0,5%).  Читать далее...
