Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States
  
His Excellency Anatoly Ivanovich Antonov

was born on May 15, 1955, in Omsk, a city in southwestern Siberia. He earned a B.A. and an M.A. in International Relations at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1978 and 1983, respectively. Later, in 2012, Antonov earned a Ph.D. in Political Science at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations in Moscow.

Antonov began his diplomatic career in 1978, spending the next 33 years at the Soviet Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its successor, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Antonov is fluent in English and Burmese.

Tatarstan is one of the most dynamically developing regions of Russia. Tatarstan ranked number 1 in Russia's national rating for doing business in 2015, 2016 and 2017, it is on the 7th place within Russian regions in GDP, on the 4th place in Investments, on the 5th place in Industrial production, on the 6th place in Construction and on the 3rd place in Agriculture. More than 36 million metric tonnes of crude oil was produced in 2018.

Tatarstan is the only one region of Russia which has two Special Economic Zones with the numbers of federal and regional incentives: the biggest and most efficient SEZ in Russia «Alabuga» for industrial production and SEZ «Innopolis» for high technology. The establishment of the third Federal SEZ «Sviyaga» for transportation and logistics is under consideration. 

Such US-based industrial companies as Ford, 3M, General Electric, Cummins, Medtronic, Federal Mogul, Armstrong, Univation Technologies, East Balt, Cisco, Ecolab, EControls and number of companies operating in advisory service, hospitality sector, in education and IT sector successfully doing business in Tatarstan. Since 2015 another two companies from the US have become the industrial residents of Tatarstan - Allied Mineral Products (Ohio) and Advenira Enterprises (California).

Tatarstan is the only region of Russia which has a permanently acting Trade representation in the USA, based in Washington, DC. 

Rustam Minnikhanov graduated from Kazan Agricultural Institute in 1978 as mechanical engineer and from Correspondence Institute of Soviet Trade (Moscow) as a commodity expert in 1986. He is a doctor of economic sciences. Full bio is available   here.

Mr. Hogan has more than thirty-six years of Operations and Executive experience. His career started in Kingsville, Texas where he spent sixteen years with Exxon Company International in various supervisory roles. 
He then worked two years with ENI/Agip Petroleum as Operations Manager and VP of Well Operations, nine years with Devon Energy Corporation as the International Operations Manager and VP of International Well Engineering, and one year with HRT America as Vice President of Drilling. 

As one of the founding Executives of PanAtlantic Exploration Company, Mr. Hogan originally served as Sr. Vice President - Operations with responsibility for global drilling, completion and production activity, HS&E, contracts / procurement and operations geology.  In March 2016, Mr. Hogan was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in addition to assuming the responsibilities of President and Chief Executive Officer. 

In April 2017, Mr. Hogan became General Manager and CEO of Lukoil International Upstream West in Houston, Texas. He has worked on six of seven continents in countries including Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Chad, Ghana, Malaysia, Thailand and Trinidad.

The U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce (USRCC) invites you to participate in a Trade mission to the    St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Penn State Society of Petroleum Engineers visits ExxonMobil Houston campus

News.psu.edu, March 20, 2019: The Penn State chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) recently had an opportunity to visit ExxonMobil's campus in Spring, Texas. SPE students were in Houston attending a conference sponsored by SPE International and were fortunate enough to get to visit ExxonMobil's facility as part of their visit to the area. Jordan Shelton, technical manager for ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Romania Limited's Neptun Deep Project, and a Penn State alumnus, hosted the students.  Read more...
Russia's Gazprom begins development of giant Kharasavey gas field

Spglobal.com, March 20, 2019: Russia's Gazprom on Wednesday began the "full-scale" development of the giant Kharasavey gas field on the northern Russian Yamal peninsula as the company continues to shift its production base northward. Kharasavey -- estimated to hold 2 trillion cu m of gas -- is set to produce first gas in 2023 with plateau output of 32 Bcm/year (88 million cu m/d), Gazprom said in a statement.  Gazprom considers the Yamal peninsula -- already home to its 4.9 Tcm supergiant Bovanenkovo field -- as a strategic region for maintaining gas output in Russia as its traditional production center in West Siberia continues to be depleted.  Read more...
Lukoil eyes participation in several projects in UAE

Tass.com, March 18, 2019: Russian oil major Lukoil is considering participation in a number of projects in the UEA, the company's CEO Vagit Alekperov told reporters. Alekperov is now in the Azeri capital of Baku where he is to meet with the UAE Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazroui. "We are now considering a number of options on their territory," Alekperov told reporters. He noted that these are gas projects, but they also have an oil component.  Read more...

Building bridges: Last steel beam linking Russia-China railway bridge connected

Rt.com, March 21, 2019: The first cross-border railway bridge between China and Russia over the Amur River has been connected from both sides. The bridge, which will be operational this year, is expected to take bilateral trade to new highs. The 2,209-meter-long (1.4 miles) structure links Russia's Far East with China's northernmost Heilongjiang province. The full completion of the cross-border bridge (railway and highway parts) is scheduled for July.  Read more...
Icelandic processors, shipbuilders look to invest in Russia

Undercurrentnews.com, March 21, 2019: Representatives of 13 major Icelandic companies have visited Murmansk to join a program aiming to modernize the Russian fleet, reports  Sputnik. The companies in question are a mix of shipbuilders, equipment manufacturers and fishing processors, each of whom is reportedly willing to invest in Russia and establish joint ventures in the Murmansk region. According to Iceland's representative to Russia, Berglind Asgeirsdottir, the companies see the Murmansk area as an attractive fish region. Companies are already working in the area using Icelandic fish processing equipment and vessel designs, and Asgeirsdottir seeks further partnerships.  Read more...
Egypt, Russia to cooperate in ICT sector, Africa

Egypttoday.com, March 19, 2019: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly received on Tuesday Russian Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Kostantin Noskov to discuss cooperation in the sectors of IT and digital transformation. The meeting was attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and tackled the activation of an MoU signed by the communications ministries of both countries in those sectors.  Read more...
Hyundai Signs Deal With Russia's Yandex for Autonomous Cars

Bloomberg.com, March 19, 2019:Hyundai Motor Group unit and Russia's biggest technology company  Yandex NV will jointly develop autonomous vehicles based the South Korean automotive giant's cars. Carmakers and tech companies are racing to rollout self-driving cars. Mercedes-Benz parent  Daimler and  BMW have set aside traditional rivalries, while  Volvo Cars and  Baidu Inc. have joined forces to develop robotaxis in China. The first stage of the joint venture between Yandex and  Hyundai Mobis Co., the de-facto holding company of the Korean group, will see the two companies working on developing a prototype driverless car, the Russian technology firm said in a statement Tuesday.   Read more...
McDermott (MDR) Secures Large Technology Contract for Engineering & Licensing of Irkutsk Oil Company's 650 KTA ethylene plant in Russia

Streetinsider.com, March 20, 2019: McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE:  MDR) today announced that it has been awarded a large* technology contract for the basic engineering and licensing of Irkutsk Oil Company's (IOC) 650 KTA ethylene plant in Russia, plus the detailed engineering and material supply of six SRT® (Short Residence Time) pyrolysis heaters for the plant. The plant will be designed to produce 650 KTA of polymer grade ethylene from ethane and propane, and will also produce high-purity hydrogen and C5 by-products.  Read more...
Germany's Wintershall eyes Russian expansion after DEA merger

Spglobal.com, March 21, 2019: Germany's Wintershall -- which is set to complete its merger with upstream company DEA by the end of June -- plans to expand its projects in Russia, which will remain its core production region post-merger, its CEO Mario Mehren said Thursday. In a statement, Mehren said Wintershall's presence in Russia -- which includes its 35% stake in the giant Yuzhno-Russkoye gas field -- would make a "significant" contribution to the company's plans to increase output. In 2018, Wintershall produced 171 million boe (470,000 boe/d), an increase of 4.3% on the previous year.  Read more...

Rostelecom connects clinics and hospitals to internet in Tyumen

Telecompaper.com, March 19, 2019: Russian national operator Rostelecom has connected to its internet services 60 hospitals and outpatient clinics in the Tyumen region to its internet services, laying around 145 kilometres of fibre-optic line for this purpose. Kazakhstan becomes main importer of chocolate from Russia

Azernews.az, March 19, 2019: The confectionery industry is one of the most stable sectors of the food industry.
In recent years, there has been a tendency to increase the share of Kazakh confectionery products in the domestic market. This is facilitated by the State Program of Industrial-Innovative Development of Kazakhstan for 2015-2019. K azakhstan became the leader in imports of Russian chocolates in 2018. The country has purchased 17.4 percent of confectionery products, according to the official website of the Mayor of Moscow.  Read more...
Baku, Moscow mull Russian oil to Turkey's STAR refinery

Hurriyetdailynews.com, March 18, 2019: Azerbaijan and Russia discussed the possibility of supplying Russian oil to the STAR  refinery in  Turkey, owned by SOCAR, the Azerbaijani state company, according to Azerbaijani news agency Trend on March 18. Trend said that  Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak discussed the issue in  Azerbaijan's capital Baku, where the parties agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding to strengthen and further develop cooperation.  Read more...

Akipress.com, March 21, 2019: The memorandum on cooperation was signed between the Tajik-Russian business council and Russian-Tajik business council within the framework of XVI session of Russia-Tajikistan Intergovernmental Commission on March 20.  The Russian delegation led by head of Finance Ministry Anton Siluanov arrived in Dushanbe a day before. During the visit, Siluanov met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.  Read more...

Interfax.ru, 20 марта, 2019: Россия в 2018 году экспортировала в Китай рекордный объем зерна - более 1,5 млн тонн, сообщил руководитель Россельхознадзора Сергей Данкверт на заседании коллегии ведомства в среду в Москве. "Особое внимание уделялось поставкам зерновых в Китай. Экспорт российского зерна в Поднебесную в 2018 году вышел на рекордный уровень и впервые в истории современной России превысил 1,5 млн тонн", - сказал он. По его словам, достигнута договоренность о подписании в ближайшее время протоколов о фитосанитарных требованиях, предъявляемых к свекловичному жому (побочный продукт производства свекловичного сахара, представляет собой обессахаренную свекловичную стружку), а также к рапсовому, подсолнечному и соевому шротам (побочный продукт выделения масел из семян растительных культур, в зависимости от конечной обработки бывает россыпью или гранулированным).  Читать далее...

"В 2017 году товарооборот между Татарстаном и Таджикистаном вырос более чем в три раза по сравнению с предыдущим годом и превысил 30 миллионов долларов, но в 2018 году он вернулся к прежним показателям. Считаю, что мы далеко не в полной мере используем имеющиеся возможности. Необходимо активизировать взаимодействие в торгово-экономической сфере.
