The USRCC's 10th Anniversary Reception

On May 30, 2019, the U.S. - Russia Chamber of Commerce ("USRCC") hosted its "by invitation only" 10th Anniversary Reception. The celebration took place at the Hilton Americas-Houston, Downtown.
The celebration started with the opening remarks provided by the USRCC Chairman of the Board, Andrew Pidgirsky, who thanked the USRCC members, partners and stakeholders for their support and briefly described the USRCC's achievements over the last decade.
Opening remarks were followed by the speech made by  Mr. Piotr Galitzine, Chairman and CEO, TMK IPSCO/President, U.S. - Russia Chamber of Commerce, who congratulated the USRCC on the 10th anniversary and emphasized the important role the USRCC plays in the development of the U.S. - Russia business relations.

Mr. Galitzine's speech was followed by congratulatory remarks made by Jack Christie, Council Member, At-Large 5, City of Houston and Hon. Alexander Pisarev, Consul General of the Russian Federation, who congratulated the USRCC on achieving such a significant milestone. 
Remarks were followed by an award ceremony that honored the USRCC members and supporters whose dedication and contribution helped the organization to continue its mission to shape the business relations between Russia and the U.S.A. The USRCC's  award ceremony included 6 nominations: Leadership Award, Advisor Award, Civic Leadership Award, Corporate Support Award, Major Corporate Contributor Award, and In-Kind Support Award.
The event was very well received by the attendees who expressed their confidence that the U.S. - Russia Chamber of Commerce will continue to grow and prosper.

Trade Mission to Moscow and St. Petersburg Economic Forum
June 2-8, 2019

The U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce (USRCC) invites you to participate in a Trade mission to the    St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Participants will have an opportunity to meet Russian government officials and some of the most influential leaders in U.S.-Russia trade and investment relations. The USRCC will coordinate private meetings, an exclusive CEO Roundtable and introductions, in addition to attending the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPEIF).

Marilyn Davies College of Business Named to 'Top 50' List, May 24, 2019: The University of Houston-Downtown's Marilyn Davies College of Business was the only Houston area higher education institution named as one of the Top 50 Online Undergraduate Business Schools for 2019 by the national ratings website,  College Consensus.
Recognized schools were ranked according to affordability, convenience and reputation. UHD was ranked No. 26 on the list.
Bachelors Degree classes offered online include Finance, General Business, Insurance and Risk Management, International Business, Management and Management Information Systems. UHD also offers Masters of Security Management courses as part of its online curriculum.   Read more...
Exxon Mobil Corporation: ExxonMobil Progresses Growth Plans and Efforts to Advance Lower-Emissions Technologies, May 29, 2019: ExxonMobil is progressing growth plans to substantially increase earnings and cash flow potential while researching technology breakthroughs to reduce emissions, Chairman and CEO Darren Woods told shareholders during the company's annual meeting today.'We are committed to sharing the company's success with our shareholders,' said Woods. 'Higher earnings and increased cash flow from our investments are a good means to accomplish this. We are equally committed to helping society reduce global emissions while supporting growth and prosperity for communities around the world - effectively addressing the dual challenge.'  Read more...
Turkish Airlines ready to boost tourism to Palestine, May 27, 2019: Turkish Airlines (THY) is ready to cooperate to boost tourism to Palestine, an official statement said Saturday. Palestinian Tourism Minister Rola Maayia and Turkish Airlines' Vice President for sales in the Middle East Muhammed Fatih Durmaz held a meeting in Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, said the ministry. During the meeting, Durmaz said the airliner is ready for cooperation that would facilitate bringing more tourists to Palestine.  Read more...

Russia to deliver Power of Siberia gas from Dec.1, May 29, 2019: Russia aims to deliver natural gas to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline from Dec. 1, Deputy Chairman of the company Vitaly Markelov said late Tuesday. Markelov confirmed that the volume of initial deliveries would be 10 million cubic meters per day but would increase. In May 2014, Gazprom and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) signed a sales and purchase agreement for gas supplies via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. The 30-year agreement provides 38 billion cubic meters per year of Russian gas to China.  Read more...
Russia, Turkey Discuss Development Of Agricultural Trade - Russian Agriculture Ministry, May 28, 2019: Russian  Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev and his Turkish counterpart, Bekir Pakdemirli, held a working meeting in  Ankara on Tuesday, where they discussed the development of bilateral agricultural trade, the Russian  Agriculture Ministry said. The ministers spoke about boosting Turkish agricultural  exports to  Russia via Port Kavkaz in the Russian  Krasnodar Territory while the port in  Gelendzhik continues undergoing reconstruction.  Read more...
Argentina interested in importing game meat from Russia - agricultural watchdog, May 29, 2019: Argentina has expressed interest in the possibility of game meat deliveries from Russia, head of the Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor and chairman of the Russian-Argentine inter-governmental commission Sergey Dankvert said on Tuesday. "Argentina expressed interest in importing game meat. This can include different types of produce, starting from reindeer meat," Dankvert told reporters after the commission's session in Buenos Aires."It can start as small-scale deliveries, with a possibility for increase in the future," he added.  Read more...
Russia targets Nigeria, other African countries for fish export, May 29, 2019: THE Russian Fishing Company, RFC, is currently mulling plans to perfect its exports of Pollack and Herring fish to Nigeria, Ghana and other African countries, the World Fishing Aquaculture Report has said. According to the Chief Executive Officer of the RFC, Mr. Fedo Kisanov, the firm is looking forward to increasing its volume sales of pollock and herring fish in these African countries in the next few years. Kisanov disclosed that before now China was traditionally its biggest market for this species of fish, adding that the firm hopes to expand its market share in Africa.  Read more...
Russian wheat prices boosted by gains in global benchmarks, May 29, 2019: Russian export prices for the new wheat crop, due to arrive on the market in the summer, advanced further last week alongside a rise in global benchmark prices in Chicago, analysts said on Monday. Black Sea prices for the Russian new wheat crop with 12.5pc protein content were $188 per tonne on a free on board (FOB) basis at the end of last week, up $2 from a week earlier, Russian agricultural consultancy IKAR said in a note. SovEcon, another Moscow-based consultancy, quoted FOB new crop for July delivery at $187 per tonne at the end of last week, up from $184.5 a week earlier. Russia usually starts wheat harvesting in late June or early July.  Read more...
Russia-Africa Economic Conference to Bring Together Key Players of the Business Community, May 29, 2019: Moscow hosted a meeting of the working group tasked with organizing the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) series of events. The Afreximbank Annual Meetings and the Russia-Africa Economic Conference will be held on 18-22 June in Moscow. The working group considered organizational matters such as venue preparations, guest and participant transport, invitation campaign progress, and opportunities for holding bilateral and multilateral meetings on the sidelines of Afreximbank events. Particular attention was paid to the plans for the business programme of the Russia-Africa Economic Conference, which will be held as part of the Afreximbank Annual Meetings.  Read more...
Climate For Startups In Russia Greatly Improved Over Recent Years - Italian Trade Agency, May 29, 2019: The environment for startups in  Russia has significantly improved over the recent years, Pier Paolo Celeste, Italian Trade Agency's (ICE) director in  Moscow, told Sputnik on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, the  Russian Skolkovo Foundation, responsible for running the Skolkovo innovation center in  Moscow, signed a deal with Italian Trade Agency (ICE) at the seventh Startup Village conference for tech entrepreneurs. Under the memorandum of understanding, the sides will support each other in  business development and attraction of investments, particularly, in such spheres as renewables, science and information technologies.  Read more...

Azerbaijan, Russia plan to increase cargo traffic along North-South corridor, May 27, 2019: Azerbaijan and Russia have discussed possibilities for cooperation in increasing transport and transit potential of the countries as well as in nuclear technologies. The measures to increase the volume of transit cargo through the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) were discussed in Moscow during the visit of Ramin Guluzade, Azerbaijani Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, to Russia. Guluzade held a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart Yevgeny Dietrich.  Read more...
Georgia-Uzbekistan launch direct flights, May 29, 2019: Georgia and Uzbekistan will launch direct flights, head of Georgia's United Airports of the Ministry of Economy Giorgi Chogovadze stated earlier today, after a meeting with the delegation of Uzbekistan Airways. The Uzbekistan state airlines will carry out the flights twice a week, he said. The first flight, Tashkent-Tbilisi-Tashkent, will take place on July 16 with an Airbus A 320 aircraft.  Read more...
Belarus, Italy look to exceed €1bn in mutual trade in 2020, May 29, 2019: Belarus and Italy hope that the level of bilateral trade will exceed €1 billion in 2020, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Belarus Mario Giorgio Stefano Baldi told the media on 29 May, BelTA has learned. "In 2018, the trade between the two countries exceeded €800 million. It continues growing. We hope that the mutual trade will exceed €1 billion in 2020," the ambassador said.  Read more...

Более 50 млрд рублей выручила Россия от экспорта вилок и ложек, 27 мая, 2019: Экспорт столовых приборов и инструментов из металла в 2018 году принес российским компаниям 50,1 млрд рублей, сообщает со ссылкой на результаты исследования компании FinExpertiza. Показатель вырос в 6,2 раза с 2013 года. Hyundai запустит в России сервис аренды своих автомобилей, 29 мая, 2019: Компания Hyundai Motor CIS запустит в России стартап Hyundai Mobility Lab совместно с  инновационным центром «Сколково»сообщают  «Ведомости». Ключевая цель стартапа - разработка приложения для удобной аренды автомобилей Hyundai (в том числе и по долгосрочной подписке) и других подобных услуг. Партнеры оценивают размер инвестиций в проект в 100 млн рублей. «Одним из трендов современного российского автомобильного рынка является новый подход к использованию автомобиля: молодое поколение уже хочет не владеть авто, а использовать его по мере необходимости», - заявили представители автоконцерна.  Читать далее...
