Shell considers solar panels to power Singapore refinery site

Reuters.com, August 5, 2019: Royal Dutch Shell ( RDSa.L) is considering to install solar panels to power its Bukom refining site in Singapore, a company spokeswoman told Reuters on Tuesday. "We are exploring the potential of installing solar panels at our Pulau Bukom Manufacturing Site," she said, without providing further details. The Bukom manufacturing site includes a 500,000 barrels-per-day refinery, which is Shell's largest wholly owned refinery. The oil and gas company has been exploring solar installations for its other sites in Singapore as part of its plans to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprint.  Read more...
Gazprom Neft increases net profit by 29% in H1 2019

Einnews.com, August 8, 2019: Gazprom Neft today announces its consolidated IFRS financial results for the first six months (H1) and second quarter (Q2) of 2019. Gazprom Neft's revenue in the first six months of 2019 totalled RUB1.215 trillion, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year, with higher production growth at major projects (the Novoportovskoye and Vostochno-Messoyakhskoye fields), a more favourable pricing environment, and effective management initiatives delivering adjusted EBITDA growth of 10.8% year-on-year, at RUB408.1 billion. Net profit attributable to Gazprom Neft PJSC shareholders totalled RUB215 billion, a 29.2% increase year-on-year. Higher operating cash flow resulted in a positive free cash flow of RUB125.2 billion in H1 2019.  Read more...
Turkish Airlines To Place 787 Dreamliner On New York Route

Simpleflying.com, August 7, 2019: Following the news that Turkish Airlines  upgraded their Singapore to Istanbul route with a new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, they are now also deploying the new aircraft to their direct route to the big apple, New York! From the 10th of August in 2020,  Turkish Airlines plans to adjust its popular Istanbul International to New York JFK route. Specifically, the previously A330-300 operated TK003/004 service will now be operated by the very much lauded Turkish Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.  Read more...

Italy's Saipem joins Arctic LNG 2 construction

Kallanishenergy.com, August 5, 2019: Italian oil and gas industry contractor Saipem announced Friday it will join the joint venture constructing the Arctic LNG 2 project, Kallanish Energy learns. The project involves construction of three liquefied natural gas trains, each with a capacity totaling 6.6 million tons per annum (Mtpa), using Siberian gas. Saipem entered an agreement with contractors Technip France SA and NIPIgaspererabotka, whereby its share in the project will be $2.4 billion, out of the total $7.6 billion contract value.  Read more...
Mechel agrees coking coal supply to Jiangsu Sha

Kallanish.com, August 8, 2019: Russian coal miner and steelmaker Mechel continues to expand its Asia Pacific coal sales with the signing of a long-term coking coal supply agreement with China's Jiangsu Sha Steel, the miner tells Kallanish. The contract is for the supply of 720,000 tonnes of premium-grade coking coal produced by Mechel's Yakutugol coal mining and processing arm from September 2019 to August 2020. The coal will be shipped from Mechel's Port Posiet in Russia's Far East and the buyer may additionally purchase Mechel's thermal coal if needed, Mechel says.  Read more...
Russia wheat gets another market as Saudi eases import rules

Ajot.com, August 8, 2019: Russian wheat may be about to crack yet another market. Saudi Arabia's grains agency will relax rules for bug damage in wheat imports starting with its next tender, according to Governor Ahmad Al-Fares. That will allow more nations, including Black Sea suppliers, to participate, he said. The move opens the door for Russia, the biggest wheat shipper, to break into the Saudi market after more than a year of talks. It could be bad news for European Union nations such as Germany, which currently dominate sales to the kingdom. Saudi Arabia was the second-largest buyer of EU wheat last season, trade data show. "It's a breakthrough," said Dmitry Rylko, director general at the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies, or IKAR, in Moscow. Russia to create conditions to increase exports of drugs in coming years

Thepharmaletter.com, August 6, 2019: The Russian government plans to accelerate its efforts aimed at raising exports of domestic drugs and active ingredients by 2030, reports The Pharma Letter's local correspondent. According to latest data from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the annual value of drug exports that are manufactured in Russia is estimated at $700 million. However, according to state plans, this figure should increase five-fold to $3 billion by 2030.  Read more...
Russia to Build Two More Nuclear Icebreakers

Maritime-executive.com, August 7, 2019: Russia has said it will build two new nuclear icebreakers in a bid to make a rapidly melting trade route through the Arctic accessible to shipping traffic on a year round basis. The announcement came on July 10 when Atomflot, which runs Russia's nuclear icebreaker fleet, posted an official tender for two new nuclear vessels for a total price of $147 billion. The new orders represent an addition to three nuclear icebreakers that Russia already has under construction, called the Arktika, the Sibir and Ural, all of which are expected to enter service by 2022. The two new icebreakers now under tender, which will be an extension of that line, are to launch by 2024 and 2026 respectively.  Read more...
Russia-Zimbabwe Commission To Address Ties In Mining, Agriculture - Foreign Minister

Urdupoint.com, August 7, 2019: The second meeting of the Russia-Zimbabwe intergovernmental commission, which is taking place in  Moscow on Wednesday, will focus on implementing existing agreements and expanding cooperation between the two countries in mining,  agriculture, tourism and other sectors, Sibusiso  MoyoZimbabwe's minister of foreign affairs and international trade, told Sputnik. "The preoccupation of the current intergovernmental commission is primarily to ensure that we implement  all the agreements, which were signed before, during the first intergovernmental commission. Secondly, we are looking at further concretizing cooperation in different areas ranging  from mining, the agricultural sector, the tourism sector,"  Moyo said.  Read more...
India and Russia to sign MoU

Travelandtourworld.com, August 7, 2019: As part of the strategic relations between India and Russia, Goa and the Kamchatka Kray region of Russia are all prepared to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in trade, economic investment, scientific and technical cooperation, and tourism fields. "The parties intend to deepen mutual beneficial cooperation, says the draft copy of the MoU, which has been approved by the state cabinet. The MoU will agree for an exchange of information on the investment climate and business conditions, along with assisting in the execution of joint projects in priority areas.  Read more...
Business programme of the Eastern Economic Forum 2019 Has Been Published

The Forum will take place in Vladivostok on 4-6 September. As of now, the EEF business programme consists of around 50 business events, including panel discussions, roundtables and business dialogues. "The business programme of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum reflects principal trends of the global economic development. The agenda of the anniversary Forum includes relevant discussions on key economic, technological and social issues. Russia's Tyumen entrepreneurs eye to establish partnership in Azerbaijan

Menafn.com, August 6, 2019: Businessmen from Russia's Tyumen city, who will be in Baku from August 11-16, intend to establish ties with potential partners from Azerbaijan,Trendreports referring to Russian media outlets. The visit is organized by Export Support Center of the Tyumen region and will include business meetings and negotiations. Businessmen also are expected to visit the enterprises of importers in Baku. According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Tyumen Region, representatives of companies such as Tyumen-Pribor LLC, Tyumen Machine-Building Plant (production of driven clutch disks for domestic and foreign freight and passenger vehicles), Zhizn company (peat and sapropel production) and SIBNA company (the latest technologies in the field of commercial accounting of energy resources) will participate in the negotiations.  Read more...

EAEU, Singapore may sign free trade agreement on 1 October

Eng.belta.by, August 9, 2019: A free trade agreement between Singapore and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) may be signed during a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Yerevan on 1 October, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said as he took part in a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on 9 August, BelTA has learned. "The Singaporean prime minister confirmed that if the negotiation process is completed and the draft agreement is harmonized on time, he will come to attend a session of the Supreme Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Yerevan and sign the [free trade] agreement," Nikol Pashinyan said.  Read more...
SOCAR Polymer to boost non-oil exports

Azernews.az, August 7, 2019: Azerbaijan already reaps the huge benefits of the strategy of diversification of the country's economy. The non-oil sector is part and parcel of this strategy, and positive indicators of the enterprises involved in this sector evidence the success of the pursued policy. SOCAR Polymer, which is a project of international standing, is the first of its kind and scale in the petrochemical industry to be implemented in Azerbaijan over the past 40 years. Ibrahim Ahmadov, Deputy Head of the Public Relations Department at SOCAR, has recently told Trend that over the first half of the year, SOCAR Polymer exported approximately 52 tons of polypropylene and polyethylene.  Read more...
Turkey, Tajikistan agree to boost trade volume

Hurriyetdailynews.com, August 7, 2019: Turkey and  Tajikistan have agreed to boost their  trade, by setting a target to increase  tradevolume to $1 billion, from the existing $380 million, over next few years, Turkish Minister for Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said on Aug 6. "The progress in economic relations between  Turkey and  Tajikistan will be beneficial for all the Central Asian countries," he said. Participating in the 10th  Turkey- Tajikistan Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting held in Ankara, the minister informed that both countries had reached to a  trade volume of $380 million last year. Россия нарастила экспорт сладостей на 14% с начала года

News.ru, 4 августа, 2019: Российские кондитерские предприятия в январе - июле текущего года увеличили экспорт продукции за рубеж на 14% по сравнению с аналогичными показателями 2018-го. В Мьянме ввели «тестовый» облегченный режим для российских туристов
