Weatherford strikes four-year safety valve deal with Petrobras

Worldoil.com, October 2, 2019: Weatherford International has announced its largest-ever contract for deep-set safety valves. Under terms of a deal with Petrobras, Weatherford will deliver 24 Optimax deep-set safety valves in the next four years.
Weatherford, an industry leader in traditional safety valve technology, is now extending its reliability to the deep and ultra-deepwater market. The Optimax deep-set safety valve protects against catastrophic loss of well control by providing fail-safe closures at pressure up to 10,000 psi and are rated for setting depths as deep as 12,000 ft. The valves are monogrammed to API-14A's highest validation grade of V1.  Read more...
Lukoil opens lubricant production plant in Almaty Region

Astanatimes.com, October 3, 2019: Lukoil, the Russian multinational energy corporation, has invested more than $9 million to construct a lubricant production plant in the Almaty Region. The company plans to sell products not only in the Central Asian region, but also export to Afghanistan, China and Mongolia.  "The largest Russian company Lukoil is not only an investor in Kazakhstan, but it is also a strategic partner. This is clearly evidenced by the fact that since 1995, the company has invested 9.5 billion tenge (US$24.4 million) in the domestic economy. With the participation of Lukoil, we are implementing a series of large joint projects. All this is the result of a bilateral fruitful partnership," said Prime Minister Askar Mamin during the opening ceremony.  Read more...
 
Shell promotes Australia head to run global conventional oil, gas unit

Reuters.com, October 4, 2019:  Royal Dutch Shell has promoted its current Australia chief, Zoe Yujnovich, to the role of executive vice president for conventional oil and gas from Jan. 1, based in the group's headquarters in The Hague, Shell Australia said on Friday.   In her new role, Yujnovich will report to Shell's upstream director and be responsible for delivering growth across 18 countries, including Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Oman, the UK and Iraq . Yujnovich, an Australian, joined Shell in Canada in 2014 from the mining industry and since February 2017 has run its Australian business, which accounts for about a quarter of the group's invested capital.  Read more...

Siemens Signs Contract for Industrial Power Plant in Tatarstan

Albawaba.com, October 2, 2019: Siemens Gas and Power and PJSC Kazanorgsintez, one of Russia's largest chemical companies, signed a contract for the turnkey construction of a 250 megawatt (MW) combined cycle power plant in Tatarstan.
Commercial operation is planned to being in 2023. Siemens also signed two service contracts, one with Kazanorgsintez for the new plant and one for a 495 MW power plant with Siemens equipment owned by PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim. Both companies are part of the TAIF Group. The total value of all three contracts is approximately €290 million.  Read more...

Russia plans to increase LNG output to 120 - 140 mln tonnes by 2035

Tass.com, October 2, 2019: The President noted that thanks to the Yamal LNG project, Russia's share in the global LNG market more than doubled and now stands at about 9%. In the next 15 years, Russia plans to increase annual production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to 120-140 mln tonnes, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday at the Russian Energy Week. "We expect ... by 2035 to reach the LNG production level of 120-140 mln tonnes per year," Putin said. According to him, the low cost of production and attractive logistics make Russian LNG projects one of the most competitive in the world and can secure growth of Russia's share in this dynamic market . Linde and Gazprom to form engineering joint venture

Hydrocarbonengineering.com, October 4, 2019:  Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Christian Bruch, Executive Vice President and CEO of Linde Engineering, and John van der Velden, Managing Director of Linde Engineering, have signed the Joint Venture Contract and Joint Venture Participants Agreement between Gazprom 335 and Linde AG at the 9 th  St Petersburg International Gas Forum. In accordance with the document, the parties will create a joint engineering venture to develop process, design and engineering documentation for natural gas processing and liquefaction facilities in Russia. In addition, the companies plan to provide services for the commissioning and operation of LNG plants. Read more...
Yandex Drive has launched electric car rental in Moscow

Rusautonews.com, October 2, 2019: Yandex Drive has launched electric car rental. The company has started offering Nissan Leaf cars to customers for rental in Moscow, as stated by the company. This is the first experience of Yandex Drive with electric vehicles in Russia, as told by a company representative.  Yandex Drive is one of the two largest car sharing companies in Russia. The car fleet of Yandex Drive is formed of 15,000 vehicles, according to company data.  Read more...

Realnoevremya.com, October 3, 2019: IoT & AI World Summit Russia took place at Kazan Expo from 1 to 2 October. The event was held in the republic for the third time already and doesn't stop breaking its own records: this year, it gathered over 1,500 delegates and 200 sectoral experts from 25 countries. To compare, in 2018, the summit hosted about 900 delegates from 25 countries. The solemn opening ceremony of the IoT was on 1 October.   Read more...

Tyumen historians spoke about the evolution of Russian universities

Eurekalert.org, October 2, 2019: The 1st Conference of the International Academy of the History of Science took place in Athens, Greece on September 12-15, 2019.  Scientists from all over the world gathered in the National Hellenic Research Foundation to discuss different aspects of the history of science and technology. Among the participants of the conference were Alexander Sorokin, the head of the Department of Russian History, head of network research center 'Man, Nature, Technologies' at Tyumen State University and Assistant Professor Mikhail Gribovsky, a senior researcher at the 'Man, Nature, Technologies' network research center, associate professor of Tomsk State University . Belarus, Latvia to cooperate in competition policy, protection of consumer rights

Eng.belta.by, October 2, 2019:  Belarus and Latvia will cooperate in the area of competition policy and the protection of consumer rights. The relevant memorandum has been signed by the Belarusian Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry and the Latvian Economy Ministry, BelTA has learned. The document was signed during the 14th session of the Belarus-Latvia intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific, and technical cooperation in Minsk on 2 October. Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Avramenko and Latvian Transport Minister Talis Linkaits took part in it.   Read more...
BelNPP fosters development of new technology in transport, construction

Eng.belta.by, Ocotober 2, 2019: The construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) gave rise to new technology in transport, construction and other sectors, Belarus' Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich said as he spoke at the international forum Russian Energy Week in Moscow on 2 October.  According to Viktor Karankevich, along with the BelNPP construction a large-scale project on reconstruction of existing and construction of new high-voltage power lines was implemented in the country. "This ensures the supply of electricity to any region of Belarus from the nuclear power plant," he stressed. "This has given a certain impetus to the development of new industries, including energy-intensive ones. План дорожного ремонта на 2020 года скорректировали в Томске

Теперь он включает девять объектов, сообщил мэр города Иван Кляйн в программе «Жизнь города».  Ремонт проводится в рамках нацпроекта «Безопасные и качественные автомобильные дороги». Перечень работ на следующий год пополнили участок улицы Елизарова от Транспортной площади до улицы Шевченко, почти вся улица Пушкина, проспект Ленина от переулка Плеханова до улицы Беленца, пишет РИА   «Томск» Объем финансирования станет известен после того, как будут утверждены бюджеты РФ и Томской области.
