ExxonMobil and FuelCell sign carbon capture agreement

Hydrocarbonengineering.com, November 20, 2019: ExxonMobil and FuelCell Energy, Inc. have signed a new, two-year expanded joint-development agreement to further enhance carbonate fuel cell technology for the purpose of capturing carbon dioxide from industrial facilities. The agreement, worth up to US$60 million, will focus efforts on optimising the core technology, overall process integration and large-scale deployment of carbon capture solutions. ExxonMobil is exploring options to conduct a pilot test of next-generation fuel cell carbon capture solution at one of its operating sites.  Read more...
Gazprom completes welding of pipeline in Russia to supply gas to Nord Stream 2

Tass.com, November 19, 2019Gazprom has completed welding work on the linear part of the gas pipeline to supply gas to Nord Stream 2 on the Russian territory, and is preparing to commission its compressor station, the holding said. "The welding of the planned linear section of the gas pipeline with a length of about 880 km planned as part of the project for the development of gas transmission capacities in the North-West region at the stretch between Gryazovets to the Slavyanskaya compressor station (CS) has been completed," the company says. Read more...

Russia Plans $1.3bn Bridge over Lena River in Yakutia

Russia to continue cooperation with OPEC to keep oil market balanced: Putin

Reuters.com, November 20, 2019President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia and OPEC have 'a common goal' of keeping the oil market balanced and predictable, and Moscow will continue cooperation under the global supply curbs deal.  The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) meets on Dec. 5 in Vienna, followed by talks with a group of other exporters, including Russia, known as OPEC+.   "Our (common with OPEC) goal is for the market to be balanced, acceptable for producers and consumers and the most important - and I want to underline this - predictable," Putin told a forum on Wednesday.  Read more...  

Russian authorities approve mechanism of subsidies to pharmaceutical companies

Tass.com, November 21, 2019The Russian government has approved mechanisms to support introduction of modern technologies by pharmaceutical and medical enterprises, the press service of the Industry and Trade Ministry. "The new rules provide for financing (mechanism for providing subsidies in advance) of manufacturers' costs on implementing projects from the R&D stage and conducting clinical research and testing up to the launch of developments into industrial production," Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said as quoted by the statement.  Read more...
Russia wants to turn Sakhalin island in Far East into major air hub for Asia & Americas

Rt.com, November 21, 2019:   An international airport on Russia's Sakhalin Island, located north of Japan, may be turned into a major flight connection hub, allowing passengers to travel to Asia and the Americas.  "We're currently discussing the creation of the hub with businesses and some air companies, to cluster passengers in our Yuzho-Sakhalinsk and offer flights to China, Japan, Americas, to distances of around 7,000-to-8,000 kilometers,"Sakhalin Region Governor Valery Limarenko revealed, in an interview with Russian broadcaster Rossiya 24.  The Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport, also called Khomutovo and recently named after famous Russian writer Anton Chekhov, mainly serves flights to and from Russian cities, as well as some international routes. Flights to Asian countries like Vietnam and China usually require changing planes in the major Far Eastern city of Vladivostok, meaning that you have to fly to mainland Russia first.   Read more...
Russia to Become World's Top Palladium Producer After $15Bln Arctic Investment

Themoscowtimes.com, November 20, 2019:  Nornickel and Russian Palladium to invest in huge production plant in Arctic tundra .  
"It is a very good project," President Vladimir Putin said Monday when met Musa Bazhaev, leader of metal firm Russian Platinum.
Bazhaev intends to produce 120 tonnes a year of palladium at the company's two sites in the Taymyr Peninsula. Together with metallurgy and mining company Nornickel, Bazhaev's Russian Platinum will invest $15 billion in the new Arctic Palladium joint venture.  The Arctic Palladium will develop resources located near the nickel fields of Nornickel. Ore reserves are estimated to 770 million tons and the production period stretches 55 years into the future, Bazhaev told Putin.  Read more...
Siluanov: Russia's Economy Grew by 2.2% in October

Russiabusinesstoday.com, November 20, 2019 Russia's economic growth reached 2.2 percent in October compared to the same month last year, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said at an investment forum on Wednesday in Moscow,   according  to Reuters.  "We see that the dynamic of economic growth is accelerating. Over the past month ... [we have had] 2.2 percent growth," Siluanov said while speaking about economic projects undertaken by the government to improve business climate in Russia.  Read more.. .

During the meetings, issues of interaction in the economy were discussed, including the investment and industrial potential of the region, scientific, educational and cultural projects, as well as preparations for the Export Forum, which will be held on December 3 in Tyumen. International Investment Forum takes place in Nukus

Uzdaily.uz, November 19, 2019:  The two-day forum was attended by representatives of international organizations from about ten countries, including South Korea, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. At the opening ceremony of the forum, the Chairman of the Jokarga Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan M. Yerniyazov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan E. Ganiev, welcoming foreign investors, spoke about the work being carried out on the initiative of the head of state to attract foreign investors to our country and create favorable conditions for them, increase production that meets the requirements of the global market for products and increase its export potential.  Read more...
Azerbaijani State Seed Fund's new plants increasing production capacity

En.trend.az, November 20, 2019:  Some 5,000 tons of seeds of local and imported varieties were processed during the last season at the newly built seed processing plants of the State Seed Fund under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture in Khachmaz and Sheki cities, Trend reports referring to the Agriculture Ministry. The mentioned plants can process up to five tons of seeds per hour.
Chairman of the State Seed Fund Emin Aliyev stressed that the use of new varieties and high-quality seeds of agricultural crops increases the yield in individual crops by 20-30 percent.  Read more...
Prelaunch operations in progress at first unit of Belarusian nuclear power plant

Belarus.by, November 20, 2019:  Prelaunch operations are in progress at the first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk before the session of the CIS Commission on Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy on 20 November. The official said: "The first unit is going through prelaunch operations. In other words, construction work is virtually finished. Matters of beautification and interior finishing of the premises are left to be addressed. We estimate the readiness of the first unit at 97% of the total volume of the work specified by design documents."  Read more...

Компания получила награду в номинации «Экология» за реализацию масштабного проекта по снижению объемов сжигания попутного нефтяного газа.  Как сообщили в пресс-службе компании, данный проект стал одной из важнейших инициатив за последние годы. Стандарты комплексной застройки появятся в России

Rg.ru, 22 Ноября 2019 г:  В России будут разработаны стандарты комплексного освоения территории. Об этом заявил вице-премьер Виталий Мутко на встрече с участниками программы "100 городских лидеров" Агентства стратегических инициатив. В стандартах будут оговорены все нюансы благоустройства района застройки - расстояние между домами, где и какими должны быть тротуары, парковки, зеленые насаждения. Стандарт будет действовать в районах комплексного строительства, не касаясь точечной застройки.   Читать далее...
