Winter Business Networking Event
On January 30, 2020 the USRCC hosted the Winter Business Networking Event at The West End - A Public House, Houston, TX. The event drew more than 30 business professionals from a variety of different industries and backgrounds, including Oil and Gas, IT, Financial, Law, Logistics and Transportation, Real Estate Development, and many others. Among others, the attendees included representatives from Turkish Airlines, Moody Rambin, Baker Huges, Sulzer, Vaco, Universe Technical Translation and also Deputy Consul General of the Russian Federation and Head of the Trade Office Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston, TX.
Attendees had a chance to make new business connections and learn about the USRCC's upcoming events.

Kogalym to become research and education center of Yugra with Lukoil's support

, January 29, 2020: President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District Natalia Komarova discussed joint work to open a branch of the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU), Russia's leading engineering education institution, in the Kogalym town. The project is being implemented under the tripartite Cooperation Agreement concluded between the Company, Kogalym town administration and PNRPU with the support of the Government of Yugra. Engineers for oil and gas industry will be trained in accordance with international standards and leading Russian and foreign professors will be invited to lecture in Kogalym.

Russia hopes problem with supply of bananas from Ecuador will be resolved - ministry

Gazprom Eyes Production Boost in Bangladesh

Russian energy giant Gazprom
has set its sights on ramping up gas production in Bangladesh and has signed agreements with Bangladeshi state-run companies Petrobangla
and Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration & Production Company Limited (BAPEX) Commersant
reports.
The move signals that the Russian energy giant apparently seeks to launch direct gas supplies to Indian consumers, the business newspaper writes. Analysts say that Gazprom is interested in potential cooperation not just to produce gas, but in order to be able to sell liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the future.

Russia adds nearly $1 billion to forex reserves, raising them to almost $560 billion
Rt.com, January 30, 2020: Russia's national postal operator Russian Post has approved its development strategy, which plans about 68 billion rubles ($1.1 billion) to be allocated for the upgrade of offices in 2020-2030, the company said this week, according to Finmarket. "The approved development strategy of the Russian Post for the period of 2020-2030 provides in particular for the upgrade of the majority of post offices by 2030. Up to 68 bln rubles ($1.1 billion) are planned to be allocated for such goals within the period of 2020-2030," the company said.

Novatek to Build $12Bln Arctic LNG Fleet

Russia's biggest liquified natural gas producer Novatek will buy a $12 billion fleet of up to 42 icebreaking tankers for the Northern Sea Route as part of its Arctic development project, the state-run TASS news agency reported
Wednesday.
The vessels will be used to transport the 80 million tonnes of new production that Novatek is planning over the next decade from gasfields on the Yamal and Gydan peninsulas in northern Siberia.

Tariff on transit of Russian oil via Belarus to rise by 6.6% as from 1 February

The tariff on services of oil transportation along the oil pipelines located in Belarus will be raised by 6.6% as from 1 February. The tariff will be increased in accordance with resolution No.6 released by the Belarusian Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry on 28 January 2020, BelTA has learned.
The Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry noted that the ministry's proposals fell on deaf ears during negotiations with colleagues from the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia despite previous verbal agreements that losses of OAO Gomeltransneft Druzhba should be compensated. Thus, the ministry's proposals did not meet understanding. The sides did not come to an agreement on by how much the tariff should be raised and a statement of disagreements was signed as a result
