Annual 3d Young Professionals Speed Mentoring &
Networking Event
The U.S.- Russia Chamber of Commerce (USRCC) hosted a Young Professionals Speed Mentoring and Networking event on February 27, 2020 that drew a crowd of more than 40 young professionals.
During 15-minute sessions, mentees received tailored career advice and got more specific insights from experts who gained their expertise in Government, Real Estate, Banking, Legal Practices.
Attendees had an opportunity to discuss professional strengths and challenges, ask questions, build connections and get information about career change.
The event was recognized by all attendees as an essential tool in helping to enhance career and personal development, social competence and business networking.

Over 1,000 American firms of all sizes continue to do business in Russia, including Boeing, GE, United Technologies, Honeywell, 3M, John Deere, Procter & Gamble, ExxonMobil, Chevron, and others. Hundreds of Houston based companies are engaged with Russian businesses.
Houston is responsible for 20 percent of the overall U.S.-Russia trade. In addition to the energy sector, several other industries hold considerable opportunities for US companies in Russia, including agriculture, chemicals, IT, machinery, healthcare, and metals. During the seminar, participants will be provided with an overview of the current business climate in Russia and the available resources to assist them.

Lukoil and Yamal-Nenets district define priority social projects for 2020

Lukoil and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District concluded a supplementary agreement on cooperation for 2020, defining priority actions to facilitate social and economic development of the region.According to the document, LUKOIL will support Yamineh charity foundation, non-governmental organizations, cultural, environmental, educational initiatives and sports projects, promote ultralight aviation in various sectors of economy and for scientific and research purposes. The company will establish a special LUKOIL class in a preparatory school in the city of Salekhard for industry-specific trainings and build a Sunday school in the town of Tarko-Saleh. LUKOIL will also help the Yamal-Nenets Regional Culture and Business Center stage a musical performance featuring professional ethnical song and dance companies - Syra Sev and Syoyotay Yamal.

Russia's first LNG-powered passenger ship to be built in Tatarstan

Russia wants to boost energy cooperation with Namibia: Matvienko

Russia is keen to enhance its economic relations with Namibia in mineral resources particularly uranium, Valentina Matvienko, chairperson of Russia's Federation Council (upper house of parliament), has said, according to RIA Novosti

Russia's largest solar power plant launched in the Urals
Rt.com, February 26, 2020: A new solar power plant (SES) with a capacity of 10MW has been commissioned in the Burzyansky district of Russia's southern Ural region of Bashkortostan.
According to Russian nanotechnology company Rusnano, it is the country's largest SES with an energy storage facility. Rusnano's portfolio company Liotech has supplied energy storage units with a total capacity of 8MW.
The automated control system selects the optimal mode of operation for the plant. It analyzes a set of parameters to determine when to store energy, and when to direct it to the network.

Russia's S7 will continue charter flights to South Korea by mid-March at least

, February 28 2020:S7 is currently making 14 flights per week to Seoul from Vladivostok, four from Novosibirsk and three from Irkutsk.
S7 airline plans to make charter flights between Russia and South Korea by mid-March at the least, the company's press service told TASS on Friday.
"More than 10,000 passengers that purchased tickets for flights between Russia and South Korea with departures in March. We plan that passengers will be returned home by S7 charters. The charter flight schedule has been prepared until the middle of March so far," the company said.

Britain bought a record amount of Russian gold last year, spending over $5 BILLION
Rt.com, February 27, 2020: Sales of Russian gold abroad jumped eight-fold last year to $5.7 billion, with almost all of that volume purchased by the United Kingdom.
According to customs data seen by RBC business news outlet, gold exports to Britain have grown more than 12 times in terms of value, to $5.33 billion.
Supplies to the UK accounted for 93 percent of all Russian gold exports. Twelve other countries, including Kazakhstan and Switzerland, bought only $409 million-worth of Russian gold.

Russian Rail Industry to Use 3D Printers by Siemens

German transport company Siemens Mobility Service
has announced it will be acquiring two additional StratasysFortus 450mc 3D printers to expand part production for the Russian rail industry, the Associated Press reports
.
To date, the transport company has successfully adopted Stratasys' technology for the production of rail parts for Germany and the UK, and the new 3D printers will enable it to expand its support of rail maintenance operations in Russia.

Russia to Build 120-km Highway to Crimea for $1.5bn
Russiabusinesstoday.com, February 28, 2020: Russia plans a $1.5 billion (100 billion rubles) highway to Crimea, in a bid to dramatically cut journey times and develop tourism on the peninsula it annexed from Ukraine in 2014, Liga.net reported
Monday.
The first section will be 68 km long and is slated to cost almost 60 billion rubles ($919 million), with the length of the entire route eventually reaching 119 km, the authorities said

Turkmenistan to Build a $1.5-Billion City Amid Spending Cuts
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov said in a decree the money would go towards paying for "foreign-made equipment and materials needed for construction," Turkmenistan's state-run media reported Tuesday.
The city, which doesn't have a name yet, is supposed to become an administrative center of the Ahal province - a region governed by the president's only son, Serdar Berdymukhamedov.

Azerbaijan increased import of textile raw materials from Turkey in January 2020, Turkey's Ministry of Trade told Trend
on Feb. 28.
According to the ministry, Azerbaijan's import of textile raw materials from Turkey exceeded $2.4 million in January 2020, which is 65.6 percent more compared to January 2019.
In January 2020, Turkey's export of textile raw materials to world markets amounted to $673.7 million, which is 0.28 percent less compared to same month of 2019.
