On June 30, 2020 , the USRCC in partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service hosted a webinar with the  U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation Honorable John J. Sullivan and the Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Honorable Anatoly I. Antonov who provided key note presentations and addressed trade related questions from about 140 webinar attendees representing US and Russian companies from oil and gas, finance, logistics and transportation, manufacturing, aerospace, and other industries. Webinar also featured Texas - Urals Regional Virtual Trade Mission and Business Dialogue, which included the following speakers:  Michael Treyger, Deputy Director, Business and Community Development, Economic Development and Tourism, Office of the Governor, State of Texas; Aleksey Orlov, First Deputy Governor, Sverdlovsk Region; Andrey Panteleyev, Deputy Governor, Tyumen Oblast; Viktor Koksharov, Rector, Ural Federal University (UrFU); Paul A. On June 25, 2020 , the USRCC and its Young Professionals Committee hosted the 4th Annual Senior Executive Knowledge Sharing Series Live Webinar with William Marsh, Chief Legal Officer & Board Member, Baker Hughes.

This annual event was held using the on-line platform.  During the webinar Mr. Marsh addressed the new ways of doing business, future of the work place, business risks and opportunities in oil and gas industry, and the strategies to build a successful career.  About 30-40 attendees were able to get engaged in a lively Q&A session moderated by Ilya Aranovich, Young Professionals Committee Chair.

The U.S. aerospace industry is the largest in the world and offers a skilled and educated workforce, extensive distribution systems, diverse offerings, and strong support at the local and national level for policy and promotion. U.S. aerospace manufacturers are very competitive internationally. In 2018, the industry contributed $151 billion in export sales to the U.S. economy. Its positive trade balance of nearly $88 billion that year was the largest trade surplus of any manufacturing industry, supporting high-wage jobs for hundreds of thousands of American workers. At the end of 2018, foreign direct investment (FDI) into the U.S. aerospace industry totaled nearly $22 billion.

Lukoil, Gazprom Neft and Tatneft Joint Venture to Develop Hard-To-Recover Reserves in Volga-Ural Region

Lukoil.com, June 29, 2020: LUKOIL, Gazprom Neft and Tatneft have closed a deal to set up a joint venture to explore and produce hard-to-recover hydrocarbons in the Orenburg Region. Partners agreed to share technologies and innovations to develop conventional oil reserves and work upon economically viable technologies for commercial development of hard-to-recover reserves at two license areas in the Volga-Ural region. S&P, Moody’s and Fitch Affirm Gazprom’s Long-Term Investment-Grade Ratings

Gazprom.com, June 26, 2020:  In May-June 2020, international ratings agencies S&P Global Ratings, Moody's Investors Service and Fitch Ratings affirmed Gazprom's long-term credit ratings as part of their annual reviews. As before, all these ratings are investment-grade with a stable outlook. Russia to More than Double State Borrowing in 2020

Reuters.com, July 2, 2020:   Russia plans to more than double its state borrowing this year to fund a rising budget deficit, with spending increasing to overcome the coronavirus crisis, aggravated by low oil prices, Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Kolychev said. Minister Sees Russian GDP Recovering to 2019 Level by Q4 2021, then Growing 3%

Interfax.com, June 30, 2020:  Russia's economy might recover to the average level of 2019 by the fourth quarter of 2021, and subsequently it is expected to see steady growth of around 3% per year, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said at a meeting on the labor market situation chaired by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. "The national plan presumes that by the fourth quarter of 2021 we will return to the average annual GDP of 2019 and thus fulfill the objective of economic recovery," Reshetnikov said. Read more...

Shipments of U.S. oil to Belarus to Continue via Long-Term Program

The shipments will continue as part of a long-term program, BelTA learned from Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei. Demand from Azerbaijani Banks at CBA's Foreign Exchange Auction Increases

Azernews.az, June 30, 2020:   The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) held a foreign exchange auction with the participation of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ), during which Azerbaijani banks acquired $50.8 million,  Trend  reports on June 30 citing CBA. В Минфине Объяснили, Почему Стараются не Расходовать ФНБ
