ASTM International Exo Technology Center of Excellence Announces First Round of Research to Standards Projects, August 17, 2020: Global standards developer ASTM International announced its first round of funding for four Research to Standards projects that will promote the development of needed standards in exo technologies. Russia Fully Fulfills Obligations under Oil Production Cut Deal in August, Says Minister, August 19, 2020: Russia complies by 100% with its commitments under the OPEC+ deal in August, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Rossiya-24 television on Wednesday. "We are at a high level. In July, we fulfilled 97% of our level. This is a high figure for us. We have attained 100% in August. As of today, we are fulfilling 100% of the the obligations we assumed in August," the minister said. Read more...
Gazprom, Cavagna Hope to Develop Localized Samples of Engine-compartment Equipment for NGV by 2021, August 20, 2020: Gazprom Gas Engine System Gazomotornye Systemy LLC, a recently created joint venture (JV) between PJSC Gazprom and Italy-based Cavagna Group S.p.A, hopes to develop localized samples of engine-compartment equipment for natural gas vehicles (NGV) by 2021, the JV's CEO, Sergei Kolin, said on Thursday during an online conference on measures to promote and support the development of the NGV market in Russia. Russia on Track to Have One of its Largest-ever Grain Harvests, August 17, 2020: Grain production in Russia is expected to reach an all-time high this year, according to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), with wheat production reaching 78 million tons. The USDA has raised its July forecast by 1.5 million tons (excluding Crimea), saying that Russian wheat exports are also expected to rise by another 1.5 million tons this year, to 37.5 million. FEZ Minsk Raises over $118m in Foreign Investment in H1 2020, August 20, 2020: In January-June 2020 the free economic zone Minsk received more than $118 million in foreign investment, of which 85% was direct foreign investment, BelTA learned from the FEZ Minsk administration. Foreign direct investment on a net basis amounted to $69.4 million, a 76% increase over the same period in 2019. Azerbaijan's Trade Operations Hit $15.3bn in 2020, August 17, 2020: The volume of Azerbaijan’s trade operations amounted to $15.3 billion in the period between January and July, local media has reported with reference to the State Customs Committee. Минэкономразвития Заявило о Замедлении падения российского ВВП, Август 20, 2020: В июле сокращение ВВП России по сравнению с аналогичным периодом прошлого года составило 4,7%, говорится в макроэкономическом обзоре (*pdf) Минэкономразвития. По сравнению с июнем темпы падения внутреннего валового продукта сократились. В июне падение ВВП год к году составляло 6,4%. В целом за семь месяцев с начала года ВВП России упал на 3,8% год к году.
