Tuesday, October 13, 2020: Global Conversation with Sister Cities International
On October 13, 2020, the USRCC was engaged in Global Conversation with Sister Cities International - “Enlivening U.S. – Russia Engagement through the Sister Cities Network.” The Conversation was moderated by Bill Boerum, Chairman Emeritus of Sister Cities International and SCI’s Country Representative for Russia. Russian Ambassador to the United States Honorable Anatoly I. Antonov was the keynote speaker of the Conversation.

Over 30 representatives of the leadership team of Sister Cities International across the U.S. were invited to the Conversation, as well as over 60 U.S. partners of Russian cities, and a broader audience who are part of the newly initiated “Global Conversation” program. 

The USRCC provided with an overview of U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce and current status of the U.S.-Russia trade, as well as provided successful examples of the U.S.-Russia Sister Cities cooperation in the international trade, energy, technology, healthcare and education. The USRCC works in close cooperation with the Sister Cities partnership and manages the sister city relationship between Houston and Tyumen, Russia. The attendees were provided with the summary of Houston-Tyumen Sister Cities areas of cooperation and successful Sister Cities activities organized by the USRCC.

The Conversation was followed by lively Q&A session, where the attendees had the opportunity to discuss enlarging and enlivening the Sister Cities partnership network between the U.S. and Russia.

Sulzer’s Processing Technology Enables Green Tire and Rubber Production

Sulzer.com, October 13, 2020: Sulzer has delivered a customized mass transfer solution to PT Enerco RPO Internasional’s grassroots plant for the production of treated distillate aromatic extract (TDAE) in Batam, Indonesia. The facility features the world’s largest agitated extraction column type KuhniTM (ECR), which has been designed and built by Sulzer. This piece of equipment plays a crucial role in the manufacture of eco-friendly rubber process oils (RPOs) for the tire and rubber sectors. Read more...

Program to boost Russian & UK Uni Links

Thepienews.com, October 14, 2020: The British Council has announced a new program to strengthen links between universities in Russia and the UK, and to facilitate joint science research projects. The organisation says that the aim of the program is to connect the next generation of science leaders by creating partnership and professional development opportunities. BelNPP First Power Unit 98% Ready

Eng.belta.by, October 16, 2020: The first power generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) is 98% ready, Belarus' Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich told the media at the E-Mobility 2020 Forum on 16 October, BelTA has learned.
