Russia Considers COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates for Cross-border Travels

Reuters.com, January 4, 2021: Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the government to consider issuing certificates to those who had been inoculated with domestic vaccines against COVID-19 for overseas travels, a document published by the Kremlin showed on Monday. Personal Income Tax in Russia Rises to 15% for Incomes Above $67,075

Tass.com, January 1, 2021: The law on increasing the personal income tax rate from 13% to 15% for income surpassing 5 mln rubles ($67,075) per year comes into force in Russia. President Vladimir Putin came up with the initiative in June, and on November 23 signed the law. He emphasized that not all income will be taxed at an increased rate, but only the part that exceeds 5 mln rubles per year. Read more...
Novak: Russia Expects Oil Demand Recovery in 2021 at 3-5 Mln Bpd

Russiabusinesstoday.com, January 7, 2021: Volatility in the oil market in 2021 will decrease and oil demand will grow by 3-5 mln barrels per day (bpd). Nevertheless, it will not reach the pre-crisis level, which was higher by 6-7 mln bpd against the level of 2020, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel. Russia Drops Corporate Income Tax Rate For Software Developers To 3%

Russia-briefing.com, January 4, 2021: Russian IT companies, and especially software developers can now enjoy tax relief measure which came into force on Friday, January 1. These lower both the corporate income tax rates for such companies and insurance premiums for the industry. Income tax drops to 3% from 20% while IT industry insurance premiums drop from 14% to 7.6%. Russia Reserves Gain $28bn in 2020 to Reach $583bn as of November, but Make-up Has Changed Radically

Intellinews.com, January 3, 2021: Russia’s gross international reserves (GIR) fell by about $10bn in the third quarter of 2020 as the government spent some money on alleviating the pain of the coronacrisis to reach $582.7bn as of the last day of November. Kazakhstan Expects Large Foreign Banks To Enter Kazakh Market, Eases Registration Procedures

Belarus Signs Long-term Oil Supply Contract with Azerbaijan's SOCAR

Azernews.az, January 4, 2021: The Belarusian Oil Company and SOCAR Trading, a subsidiary of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), have signed a long-term contract to supply raw materials to Belarusian refineries, TASS reported citing the Baku Report agency. The contract has been signed for one year with the possibility of further extension. SOCAR Trading will supply Belarus with both oil from Azerbaijan and, potentially, from other sources.
