LUKOIL and Gazprom Discuss Progress in Joint Venture Founding
Lukoil.com, January 22, 2020: President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Alexey Miller have held a working meeting in Saint Petersburg today. The parties discussed current issues of cooperation between the two companies. Special attention was given to the project of developing the Vaneyvisskoye and Layavozhskoye fields and, in particular, to the progress in creating a joint venture to implement the project. Zvezda Shipyard Commences Construction of the Third MR-Type Product Carrier Tanker
Rosneft.com, January 15, 2020: The Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex has commenced the construction of the third MR-type product carrier tanker fuelled with gas. Cutting of the first hull details for the coming vessel started in hull production block using the new advanced plasma gas unit installed as part of the expansion of existing capacity of the shipyard’s main shop. SPDC Completes Sale of Interest in Oil Mining Lease 17 in Nigeria
Shell.com, January 15, 2020: The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), has completed the sale of its 30% interest in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 17 in the Eastern Niger Delta, and associated infrastructure, to TNOG Oil and Gas Limited, a related company of Heirs Holdings Limited and Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp), for a consideration of $533m. EuroChem, SUEK Set up Transport Co with 50,000 Railcars, 6 Ports
1prime.biz, January 18, 2021: Russian fertilizer producer EuroChem and Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) are establishing a joint transport company and ceding more than 50,000 cargo railcars and six sea ports under its control, a representative of SUEK told PRIME on Monday. Russia Plans to Produce COVID-19 Vaccine Storable at Fridge Temperatures - Minister
Reuters.com, January 21, 2021: Russia plans to produce a form of its Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine that can be transported and stored at normal fridge temperatures as opposed to -18 Celsius, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said on Thursday. Such a move could help Russia in the global vaccine race by making it cheaper to store and transport Sputnik V, easing the logistical challenges posed by needing a colder supply chain and making it easier for developing nations to handle. Russia’s 2020 Budget Executed with Deficit of 3.8% of GDP
Tass.com, January 21, 2021: Russia’s federal budget for 2020 was executed with a deficit of 3.8% of GDP, or 4.1 trillion rubles ($55.7 bln), Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told reporters. According to data published on the website of the Finance Ministry, budget revenues amounted to 18.72 trillion rubles ($254 bln), or 90.9% of the total amount of approved revenues. Read more...

LNG Transshipment Complex to be Built in Jan 2023 in Kamchatka Subject to Completion of Dredging in Q1 2022 - Plan
Interfax.com, January 22, 2021: An offshore transshipment complex for liquefied natural gas (LNG), including federal property with a ship access channel and maritime navigation safety facilities, is set to be built in the Kamchatka territory in January 2023, according to the plan to implement the National Program for Socio-Economic Development of the Far East for the period until 2024 and until 2035, and Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev has agreed to the plan's implementation. Russia Sees Lowest Foreign Investment Since 1994
Themoscowtimes.com, January 15, 2021: Russia received its lowest level of foreign investment last year since the mid-1990s, data released by the Central Bank on Tuesday showed. Net inflows of foreign direct investment (FDI) came in at just $1.4 billion in 2020, as the economic fallout from the pandemic, travel restrictions and a slump in global energy prices heaped pressure on the world economy and darkened prospects for Russia’s crucial commodity industries. Russia Continues Ditching US Treasuries as Part of State de-Dollarization Policy
Russiabusinesstoday.com, January 20, 2021: The Russian central bank has continued getting rid of US Treasury bonds, with the share of investments in American debt shrinking 19.2 percent in November, according to the US Treasury Department. The statistics, commonly published with a three-month lag, show the share of Russian holdings totaled a modest $4.968 billion. Fitch Remains Optimistic, Forecasts Kazakhstan’s Budget Deficit to Narrow in 2021
Astanatimes.com, January 21, 2021: Kazakhstan’s fiscal deficit is expected to narrow to 2.1 percent of the country’s gross domestic product from the current 6.4 percent, said Fitch Rating analysts in their latest report devoted to the recent parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan. Внешний Долг РФ в 2020 Году Снизился на $21,3 млрд
Interfax.ru, Январь 21, 2020: Внешний долг РФ в 2020 году уменьшился на $21,3 млрд, или на 4,3% – до $470,1 млрд с $491,4 млрд, сообщается в информации, размещенной на сайте ЦБ РФ. Как отмечается в комментарии ЦБ РФ, снижение долговых обязательств перед нерезидентами наблюдалось по всем секторам экономики, при этом наиболее заметным стало уменьшение иностранной задолженности прочих секторов по привлеченным кредитам. Вложения Иностранцев в Российские Компании Упали Более чем в 20 Раз
Rbc.ru, Январь 19, 2021: Общий объем новых прямых иностранных инвестиций в российские нефинансовые компании по итогам 2020 года составил $1,4 млрд, что более чем в 20 раз меньше показателя 2019 года ($28,9 млрд), следует из данных Банка России по платежному балансу. В материалах ЦБ отмечается, что в первом и четвертом кварталах 2020 года наблюдался отток средств инвесторов, составивший $4,1 млрд и $0,9 млрд соответственно.
