Shell Publishes Reports on Sustainability, Industry Associations and Payments to Governments
Shell.com, April 7, 2020: Shell has published its 2020 Sustainability Report, its Industry Association Climate Review and its annual Payments to Governments Report. The three reports together further demonstrate Shell’s efforts to remain at the forefront of the drive for greater corporate transparency around activities that are important to investors, governments and civil society. The 24th edition of the Shell Sustainability Report outlines Shell’s strategy to become a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050, in step with society. Proposed Standard Will Cover Water-Resistive Barriers and Air Barriers in Building Envelopes
Astm.org, April 1, 2021: A proposed ASTM International standard will help engineers to better understand how various climates affect water vapor transmission of water-resistive barriers and air barriers (WRB/AB) in building envelopes. ASTM’s performance of buildings committee (E06) is developing the proposed standard. ASTM International member Danko Davidovic says that the proposed standard (WK51917) will explain how WRB/AB function in various wall and roof assemblies. Read more...

Sanctions Threat Pushes Foreign Share of Russian Debt to 6-Year Low
Themoscowtimes.com, April 6, 2021: Foreign investors’ holdings of Russian government debt fell below 20% for the first time in six years at the end of March, official data from Russia’s National Settlement Depository shows. International investors have been selling their holdings in Russia’s state debt since the start of the year, fearful of being caught up in a possible hardening of sanctions against Russia in retaliation for the poisoning and jailing of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny. Russian Ambassador Antonov's Return to US Unlikely to Happen Soon - Foreign Ministry
Sputniknews.com, April 7, 2021: The Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, will most likely not return to Washington in the near future, although the solution to this issue depends on the willingness of the US to show a desire to normalize relations with Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told Sputnik. Russian Economic Growth to Substantially Exceed Pre-crisis Rates, Says IMF Envoy
Tass.com, April 7, 2021: The Russian economic growth will substantially exceed its pre-crisis growth rates this and next year, according to projections by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Executive Director for Russia in the IMF, Dean of its Executive Board Aleksei Mozhin said in an interview with TASS. Russia’s economic contraction amounted to 3.1% last year, whereas at the very beginning of the coronavirus pandemic the Fund’s experts projected a 5.5% growth contraction for the country. Novatek Plans to Put up 60% in Arctic LNG 2 as Collateral for Financing
Reuters.com, April 5, 2021: Russian largest liquefied natural gas producer Novatek said on Monday it plans to put up its 60% stake in Arctic LNG 2 project as collateral for long-term financing of the project. Novatek seeks to raise $11 billion in external financing and has said it planned to get the funds by the first half of this year. Read more...

CBR to Create Prototype Digital Ruble Platform by Year's End, Test it in 2022
Interfax.com, April 8, 2021: The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) will create a prototype digital ruble platform by the end of 2021 and test it in 2022, CBR first deputy chairman Olga Skorobogatova said at a press conference. "We believe that we need to create a prototype digital ruble platform by the end of the year, and next year try to test out this prototype with market participants specifically in a test mode," she said. Russian Government Cuts Oil, Gas, Coal Production Forecast for 2021, 2022
Russiabusinesstoday.com, April 6, 2021: The Russian government slashed its forecast for oil, gas and coal production for this and next year, according to a decree on amendments to the Russian state program for energy development, published on the official legal information portal, Sputnik reports. The production of oil, including gas condensate, in Russia in 2021 is projected to reach 517 million tonnes, down from from 560 million tonnes in a previous forecast. The forecast for production of natural and associated gas this year is cut to 698.3 billion cubic meters from 750.1 billion cubic meters. Read more...

Oxygen Launched a Cloud Cluster in Tyumen and Intends to Create an IT Competence Center for Companies in the Region
Acexpert.ru, April 9, 2021: Oxygen, the operator of a network of data centers and a global provider of cloud services, has launched into commercial operation the regional segment of its own cloud platform Oxygen Cloud Platform, which is actually located in the Tyumen Region. This is the first commercial data center in the Tyumen region. Now Oxygen cloud products are available to companies and government organizations of the Ural Federal District and beyond, as well as to Chinese companies developing their business in Russia and Europe. IMF Predicts Growth in Azerbaijan’s Economy in 2021
Azernews.az, April 8, 2021: Azerbaijan’s economy is forecasted to grow at 2.3 percent in 2021, the International Monetary Fund reported in its World Economic Outlook report for April. Meanwhile, the national economy is expected to grow at 1.7 percent in 2022. The forecast for the current year is improved by 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous forecast. Read more...

Правительство Ожидает Роста Инвестиций в Основной Капитал РФ на 3,1% в 2021 году
Kommersant.ru, Апрель 8, 2021: Вице-премьер России Андрей Белоусов сообщил, что правительство прогнозирует увеличение инвестиций в основной капитал России на 3,1% в 2021 году. Он также заявил о планах к следующему году довести этот показатель до 5,6%. В марте Высшая школа экономики (ВШЭ) опубликовала исследование об инвестициях в России в год пандемии коронавируса. Iz.ru, Апрель 8, 2021: Российские разработчики софта попросили правительство и Минцифры законодательно запретить государственным органам и организациям с госучастием закупать иностранные системы видео-конференц-связи (ВКС) с 1 июня 2021 года. Об этом говорится в обращении АНО «Цифровые платформы» в ведомства. Таким образом разработчики хотят снизить зависимость от зарубежных поставщиков и продвинуть российские решения.
