The U.S. has Imposed the Widest Anti-Russia sanctions since 2018

Russian Industrial Output Back to 1.1% Growth in March

Russia Considering ‘Golden Passport’ Investment Scheme to Attract Foreign Investment
Russia-briefing.com, April 14, 2021: The Russian Government Commission has approved the draft law of the Ministry of Economic Development on a simplified procedure for issuing residence permits to foreigners in exchange for investments, according to two sources close to the Cabinet. The proposal will also include an extension to family members of the applicant. Russia, Hit by New U.S. Sanctions, to Cut 2021 Borrowing Plan
Reuters.com, April 15, 2021: Russia will cut its 2021 borrowing plan more than expected and will offer only new OFZ treasury bonds from June 14, the date after which U.S. banks will be barred from buying rouble-denominated state bonds directly from Russia. The new set of sanctions announced on Thursday battered the rouble and state bonds but analysts say it will not have a significantly adverse impact on the Russian budget and markets over the longer term. Russia to Raise Compensations to Oil Firms for Fuel Prices
1prime.biz, April 16, 2021: The Russian government will again raise compensations to the oil companies for holding down local fuel prices, while the budget spending should be partially compensated by a slight increase of the mineral extraction tax (MET) on oil, Kommersant business daily reported on Friday quoting sources. The ministries agreed to compensate 50% of budget spending on the changes in the fuel price damper by an increase of MET, but how MET will be raised is unclear. Read more...

Azerbaijan Enhancing Support to SMEs
Azernews.az, April 16, 2021: The Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) of Azerbaijan is expanding the network of ‘Friend of SMEs’ offices, a source in the agency told Trend. According to the source, on April 15, similar offices opened in Salyan and Sabirabad districts. Thus, their number in 24 cities and districts of Azerbaijan has reached 26. At the presentations held with the participation of a limited number of entrepreneurs, representatives of local executive authorities, and relevant state structures, the agency’s chairman Orkhan Mammadov spoke about the activities of the structure headed by him and the ‘Friend of SMEs’ mechanism. Kazakh Government to Develop New Concept for Creative Industry Growth
Astanatimes.com, April 16, 2021: A working group chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov has announced plans to develop a new concept for the economy’s creative sector development, reports the Press Office of the Prime Minister. Russia Interested in Cooperation with Belarus in Freight Transshipment
Eng.belta.by, April 16, 2021: Russia is interested in advancing cooperation with Belarus in the area of freight transshipment, BelTA learned from Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak on 16 April. BelTA reported earlier that Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Avramenko and Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev met in Moscow on 19 February and signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in transporting and transshipping Belarusian oil products, which are intended for export to third countries, via Russian sea ports.
