Second Oil Finding at Block 10 in Mexico

Lukoil.com, August 2, 2021: PJSC LUKOIL (hereinafter – the Company) announces a new oil finding in the Sayulita prospecting area of Block 10 offshore Mexico following the drilling of an exploratory well. Proposed ASTM Standard Would Support Small Aircraft Structure Evaluation

Sn.astm.org, August 4, 2021: A proposed ASTM International standard would address requirements to evaluate small aircraft components as low stress structures. ASTM’s general aviation aircraft committee is developing the proposed standard. The proposed standard (WK61232) would address requirements for users to designate aircraft components as low stress structures, allowing the user to forgo certain structural durability assessments that are required as part of the ASTM standard specification that covers structural durability for small aeroplanes (F3115). Libra Consortium Takes Final Investment Decision on Mero-4 FPSO in Brazilian Pre-Salt

Shell.com, August 2, 2021: This is the fourth production system to be deployed in the Mero field. Final investment decisions were previously taken for the Mero 1, Mero 2 and Mero 3 FPSOs. Each unit has a daily operational capacity rate of 180,000 barrels of oil/day. The Pioneiro de Libra FPSO (50,000 barrels of oil/day) has been producing at Mero since 2017 and is a key source of information for the Libra consortium to aid further development and optimize productivity of the field, reservoir and wells. Corporate.exxonmobil.com, July 30, 2021: Exxon Mobil Corporation today announced estimated second-quarter 2021 earnings of $4.7 billion, or $1.10 per share assuming dilution, compared with a loss of $1.1 billion in the second quarter of 2020. Second-quarter capital and exploration expenditures were $3.8 billion, bringing the first half of 2021 to $6.9 billion, which is consistent with planned lower activity in the first half of the year. Russia Takes Second Place in Petroleum Exports to U.S.

Russiabusinesstoday.com, July 31, 2021: According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), Russia ranked second in total petroleum shipments to the United States in May 2021, with record-breaking deliveries totaling 26.17 million barrels. The previous high was achieved in May 2009, when Russia shipped 25.08 million barrels of crude oil and petrochemicals to the United States, TASS reports. Read more...
Russia Oil and Condensate Output Rises

Rigzone.com, August 3, 2021: Russia increased oil production in July for the first time in three months, after more generous quotas were extended to the entire OPEC+ alliance. Producers pumped 44.24 million tons of crude and condensate last month, according to preliminary data from the Energy Ministry’s CDU-TEK unit. That’s about 10.46 million barrels a day, or 0.3% higher than in June, Bloomberg calculations show, based on a 7.33 barrels-per-ton conversion rate. Read more...
Russia, U.S. to Continue Working Together at ISS after 2024 - Roscosmos

Interfax.com, August 4, 2021: Russia will continue to work with international partners at the International Space Station (ISS) after 2024, Roscosmos Executive Director for Manned Programs Sergei Krikalev said. "The expediency of continuing the flight after 2024 is being discussed. We have had numerous debates on how cosmonautics will be developing in the low circumterrestrial orbit. Russia Starts Operation to Lay Undersea Fibre Optic Cable through Arctic

Russia Plans to Subsidise Electric Cars to Spur Demand

Reuters.com, August 4, 2021: Russia plans to subsidise the purchase of domestically manufactured electric vehicles (EVs) to stimulate demand and production, the country's economy ministry said on Wednesday. The use of electric cars in the oil and gas producing country has lagged far behind Europe and no EVs are made in Russia, but the government has ambitious production plans and is considering the financial stimulus to boost the sector. Hevel Wants to Auction 717.4 MWh of Solar Power

1prime.biz, August 4, 2021: Avalar Solar Technology, affiliate of Russian solar power company Hevel, wants to sell 717,400 megawatts per hour (MWh) of electric power at an open auction, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday citing the documents. The company will accept bids from Monday until Friday. The minimum premium amounts to 80 rubles per MWh, which is about 5% of the market price. The company with the highest bid will win the auction.
