Lukoil to Build Catalytic Cracking Complex at Perm Refinery

Lukoil.com, August 20, 2021: PJSC LUKOIL announces the start of a catalytic cracking complex construction project at the Perm refinery. The project is implemented under an agreement with the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation on providing an investment incentive as part of the negative excise tax on refinery feedstock until January 1, 2031. ASTM International Standard Will Be Adopted into the International Fire Code

Sn.astm.org, August 24, 2021: An ASTM International standard practice for inflatable amusement devices, published by the amusement rides and devices committee (F24), will be adopted into the 2024 International Fire Code (IFC) by the International Code Council (ICC). The standard (F2374) establishes criteria for the design, manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and inspection of commercial use inflatable amusement devices. These devices are designed for patron activities that include, but are not limited to, bouncing, climbing, sliding, obstacle course running, and interactive play. Read more...
ExxonMobil Affiliate to Produce Renewable Diesel to Help Reduce Transportation Emissions in Canada

Corporate.exxonmobil.com, August 25, 2021: ExxonMobil today announced its majority-owned affiliate, Imperial Oil Ltd., is moving forward with plans to produce renewable diesel at a new complex at its Strathcona refinery in Edmonton, Canada. When construction is complete, the refinery is expected to produce approximately 20,000 barrels per day of renewable diesel, which could reduce emissions in the Canadian transportation sector by about 3 million metric tons per year. The complex will utilize locally grown plant-based feedstock and hydrogen with carbon capture and storage (CCS) as part of the manufacturing process. Read more...

Rosatom Could Ask for National Wealth Fund Money for Lithium Projects

Interfax.com, August 23, 2021: Rosatom is thinking of requesting National Wealth Fund money for lithium projects, Alexei Likhachev, the state nuclear corporation's chief, said at the Army 2021 forum in Kubinka outside Moscow. Rosatom is very actively involved in rare and rare earth metals. In this case they have singled out lithium, because of the impetus it gives to energy storage. Novatek Says Can Ship LNG via Northeast Passage 9–10 Months/Year

1prime.biz, August 24, 2021: Russian gas producer Novatek can now guarantee shipments of liquefied natural gas via the eastern route of the Northeast Passage nine to 10 months per year, Deputy CEO Yevgeny Abrosimov said on Wednesday.
