Two Billion Tonnes of Oil Produced at Lukoil’s Fields in West Siberia

Lukoil.com, August 31, 2021: LUKOIL produced today the 2-billionth tonne of oil since the beginning of commercial development of West Siberian fields. This milestone event took place on the cusp of the Company's 30th anniversary. The first billionth tonne of oil was produced in the region in 1999. Nowadays, LUKOIL operates at 120 licence blocks in West Siberia, whose combined area amounts to around 80 thousand square km. Read more...
Shell Commits to Investment on Timi, its First Offshore Wellhead Platform in Malaysia to be Powered by Solar and Wind

Shell.com, August 30, 2021: The Timi field is situated approximately 200 kilometres (km) off the coast of Sarawak, in Malaysia. The Timi development features SSB’s first wellhead platform in Malaysia that is powered by a solar and wind hybrid renewable power system. This unmanned platform is approximately 60% lighter than a conventional Tender Assisted Drilling (TAD) wellhead platform. This project also includes the drilling of two wells. Read more...

Gazprom Profits Leap in Second Quarter

Themoscowtimes.com, August 30, 2021: Russian energy giant Gazprom said Monday its second quarter earnings had more than tripled year-on-year, driven by high natural gas prices. The state-controlled group reported a net profit of 521.2 billion rubles ($7 billion) in the second quarter, a three-fold increase when compared to the same period in 2020. 
Russia Was Second Biggest Petroleum Exporter to U.S. in June 2021

Russiabusinesstoday.com, September 1, 2021: According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), Russia ranked second in total petroleum shipments to the U.S. in June 2021, with deliveries totalling 25.43 million barrels, TASS reports. Canada leads the list of petroleum exports to the United States in June, with 137.57 million barrels, followed by Mexico (23.65 mln barrels). Read more...
Russian Oil Giant Rosneft Seeks Approval To Export Natural Gas

Ten-year Tax Breaks to be Introduced in Kurils for Both Russian and Foreign Investors - Putin

Interfax.com, September 3, 2021: A preferential tax regime will be introduced in the Kuril Islands for ten years and it will be available to both Russian and foreign investors, President Vladimir Putin said at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). "We will create an unprecedented package of preferences and incentives in the Kuril Islands, where we will completely exempt businesses from paying key taxes: on profit, on property, the land and transport tax. And for ten years. I stress that this refers to companies that not just register in the Kurils, but actually work on the islands, build buildings, enterprises, hire employees. Reduced insurance contributions in the amount of 7.6% will also be set for such companies, also for ten years," Putin said. Read more...
Iraq: Lukoil Plans to Ramp up Oil Output at West Qurna 2 Field

Poandpo.com, August 30, 2021: Lukoil had previously considered quitting the project in the country due to the current investment climate, but Iraqi authorities refused its request to sell part of its stake. UNCTAD World Investment Report: Kazakhstan Ranks 1st in Growth of net FDI Among Transition Economies

Россия к Октябрю Восстановит 65% Сокращенной в 2020 Году Добычи Нефти
