Lukoil and Perm Region Sign Memorandum on Cooperation

Lukoil.com, September 8, 2021: Governor of Perm region Dmitry Makhonin and President of PJSC LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov signed today a memorandum of understanding regarding investment project of construction of catalytic cracking complex at the Perm refinery. The project will be implemented under LUKOIL's agreement with Russian Ministry of Energy on an investment increment to reverse excise tax on oil until January 1, 2031. The launch of the complex in 2026 will allow to increase production of high quality motor petrols and start production of polymer grade propylene, which will be used as feedstock for LUKOIL's petrochemical facilities. ExxonMobil Announces Discovery at Pinktail, Offshore Guyana

Exxonmobil.com, September 9, 2021: ExxonMobil today said it made a discovery at Pinktail in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana. The Pinktail well encountered 220 feet (67 meters) of net pay in high quality hydrocarbon bearing sandstone reservoirs. In addition to successful appraisal of the Turbot discovery, the Turbot-2 well encountered 43 feet (13 meters) of net pay in a newly identified, high quality hydrocarbon bearing sandstone reservoir separate from the 75 feet (23 meters) of high quality, oil bearing sandstone reservoir pay encountered in the original Turbot-1 discovery well. ЕРС contract signed for natural gas liquefaction plant within Gas Processing Complex near Ust-Luga

Gazprom.com, September 9, 2021: RusKhimAlyans, Linde, and Renaissance Heavy Industries signed today in St. Petersburg an ЕРС contract to build a natural gas liquefaction plant within the Gas Processing Complex near Ust-Luga (GPC, part of the Complex for processing ethane-containing gas; the GPC operator is RusKhimAlyans, a joint venture of Gazprom and RusGazDobycha). The document was signed in the presence of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Wolfgang Reitzle, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Linde. Read more...

Gazprom Neft & Sovcomflot Partner on Northern Sea Route Efficiency

Maritime-executive.com, September 7, 2021: Gazprom Neft CEO Alexander Dyukov and Sovcomflot CEO Igor Tonkovidov have signed an agreement on collaborating in improving efficiency in Russian-Arctic maritime logistics under a document signed at this year’s Eastern Economic Forum. Construction of Nord Stream 2 Gas Pipeline Fully Completed

Interfax.com, September 10, 2021: Construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has been fully completed, Gazprom said in a statement. "At a morning briefing session at PJSC Gazprom, Chairman of the Management Board Alexei Miller informed those present that at 8:45 a.m. Moscow time this morning, construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline was fully completed," the statement said. U.S. Imports of Russian Oil Expected to Soar After Hurricane Ida

Oilprice.com, September 9, 2021: The United States is set to import more Russian oil this month and next, sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg, as American supply of medium sour crudes is tight with 77 percent of U.S. Gulf of Mexico oil production still offline ten days after Hurricane Ida made landfall in Louisiana. There is increased interest from refiners for Russian crude, especially the medium sour Urals grade, which is similar to the U.S. Mars blend whose production is still offline, according to Bloomberg’s sources. Russia’s Central Bank Hikes Rates Once More in Inflation Battle

Themoscowtimes.com, September 10, 2021: Russia’s Central Bank has hiked interest rates to 6.75% in its ongoing battle to tame soaring inflation, which threatens to undermine the country’s economic recovery in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Reuters.com, Septemer 9, 2021: The leaders of Russia and Belarus on Thursday agreed to set up a unified oil and gas market and to deepen economic integration in the face of what they regard as unjustified Western sanctions on both their economies. The agreement, reached after Kremlin talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, is likely to be seen as the latest show of support by Putin for Lukashenko who last year used force to break up huge protests against his rule.
