USRCC Activities
On October 5, 2021, the USRCC hosted its "Gridlock in the Global Supply Chain" Webinar, moderated by Anton Posner, Chief Executive Officer, The Mercury Group and Mercury Resources LLC; North East Chapter Chair and New York Representative, U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce.

Over 170 registrants from U.S.A., Russia and CIS countries were engaged in discussion of the long-term challenges facing the global supply chain, such as supply chain disruptions, decreasing supply chain costs, advantages of digitalization of supply chain management, and many others.

Brian Hesse, President and CEO, Rusal America Corporation, Scott Bergeron, Director of Business Development & Strategy, Oldendorff Carriers GmbH & Co. KG, Robin Martin, Head of Market Development, London Metal Exchange, Scott Evans, Co-founder, Waybridge, shared their thoughts and experience with the audience.

The Webinar audience was engaged in the moderated Q&A session and addressed questions regarding alternative fuel usage, expectations for the global dry bulk shipping market, supply chain risk management, digitalization of supply chain management, commodities global supply chain projections, meeting consumer demands, expectations for supply chain efficiency and many others.

Lukoil Increases Its Share in the Shah Deniz Project in the Caspian Sea

Lukoil.com, October 7, 2021: ​PJSC LUKOIL announces conclusion of an agreement on acquiring 15.5% interest in the Shah Deniz natural gas project in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea from PETRONAS. The value of the transaction will amount to $2.25 billion, and the completion is subject to fulfilment of conditions precedent, including approval by SOCAR, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic. ExxonMobil Increases Stabroek Resource Estimate to Approximately 10 Billion Barrels

Corporate.exxonmobil.com, October 7, 2021: The updated resource estimate includes a new discovery at the Cataback-1 well, which brings the total significant discoveries to more than 20 within the Stabroek Block. The Cataback-1 well encountered 243 feet (74 meters) of net pay in high quality hydrocarbon bearing sandstone reservoirs. It is located approximately 3.7 miles (6 kilometers) east of Turbot-1 and was drilled in 5,928 feet (1,807 meters) of water by the Noble Tom Madden. Read more...

Petrofac Eyes Russian Expansion via Gazprom Deal

Energyvoice.com, October 7, 2021: The services company signed the deal with Gazprom’s Institute of Oil and Gas Technology Initiatives (INTI). The memorandum of co-operation (MoC) will run for five years. The agreement will see the two sides collaborating on industry standardisation and sustainable development, Petrofac said. Russia Drafts New, More Ambitious Decarbonization Strategy

Reuters.com, October 6, 2021: The Russian government has drafted a new decarbonisation strategy that sets a 2060 net zero emissions target and provides for more aggressive measures to tackle emissions than previously, the Kommersant newspaper reported on Wednesday. The European Union, Britain and Italy last week urged Russia to commit to reach net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 and step up its plans to tackle climate change ahead of the COP26 summit. Oil Prices Dive on Increasing U.S. Crude Inventories

Worldoil.com, October 6, 2021: Oil declined by the most in two weeks in the wake of growing U.S. inventories and after Russia signaled it is ready to help ease a global energy crisis. Futures in New York slid 1.9% on Wednesday and extended declines late in the session after the Financial Times reported that the U.S. is raising the prospect of releasing emergency oil reserves. Prices were weaker with U.S. government data showing growing crude stockpiles and amid Russian President Vladimir Putin’s indications that the country will ramp up gas exports to stabilize energy markets. Russian Econ Ministry's Peter Bobylev Appointed as Fifth Dep Energy Minister

Interfax.com, October 4, 2021: Peter Bobylev, who headed the Russian Economic Development Ministry's Department for Competition, Energy Efficiency, and Environment, has become the fifth deputy energy minister following the departure of Anatoly Yanovsky. The Energy Ministry's press service said that Bobylev had worked in various positions in the Russian Energy Ministry from 2010, prior to which he was employed as CJSC Integrated Energy Systems, OJSC OGK-4, and Surgutskaya GRES-2. Rosneft Still Mulls State Support of Eastern Petrochemical Company

1prime.biz, October 6, 2021: Russian oil major Rosneft is still in negotiations with the Finance Ministry on reasonable state support to Eastern Petrochemical Company, CEO Igor Sechin said on Wednesday during a meeting chaired by President Vladimir Putin. World Bank Increases Russia’s GDP Growth Forecast to 4.3% in 2021 — Report

Tass.com, October 6, 2021: The World Bank has increased its GDP growth forecast for Russia to 4.3% in 2021, but revised downwards its forecasts for 2022 and 2023, according to the organization’s report for Europe and Central Asia. The previous World Bank forecast projected Russian economic growth to amount to 3.2% in 2021, to 3.2% in 2022 and to 2.3% in 2023. Read more...

Kazakhstan to Launch 2060 Carbon Neutrality Concept in October

Причины такого решения господин Маск не пояснил. В мае прошлого года Илон Маск уже заявлял о планах перенести штаб-квартиру Tesla из Калифорнии в Техас или Неваду.
