Mission Statement: Dedicated to the men and women who design, build, operate, and maintain our Nation's submarines and the families and communities who support them.
We are thrilled to share the resounding success of our participation at Groton City Day, where members of our dedicated team proudly manned a tent to promote the USS Groton Sail Monument. Despite the sweltering heat and humidity, the turnout was nothing short of fantastic, with a steady stream of visitors engaging with our mission and leaving with positive impressions.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our remarkable key officers and volunteers—(L-R)Keith Hedrick, Rick Norris, Bernadette Beeney, and Mark Oefinger—who not only braved the elements but exemplified the spirit of dedication and teamwork that drives our foundation forward.
Join us in this exciting movement, as your support can have a profound impact on preserving the rich heritage of the USS Groton and the submarine community!

This generous donation not only propels us forward in breaking ground and commencing the construction of our monument but also reinforces our shared commitment to honoring the legacy of the submarine community.
This contribution is a vital step forward, but we urgently need to rally even greater financial support from our community to bring this monumental project to fruition. Let us unite in this endeavor, as every contribution counts towards creating a lasting tribute that will educate, inspire, and honor those who have served, reinforcing our shared values and respect for their sacrifices.

Contractor News
We are thrilled to announce that the Foundation has taken a monumental step forward with the initiation of a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) for the construction of the USS Groton Sail Monument in collaboration with Mattern Construction, Inc. This pivotal LNTP not only marks the commencement of critical early-phase work, including site mobilization, excavation, and the establishment of structural concrete foundations, but also sets the stage for the installation of the USS Groton's rudder by our esteemed vendor in the upcoming October/November timeframe.
Mattern Construction has announced their intention to break ground on September 28th, marking a pivotal moment that reflects our unwavering dedication to honoring the submarine community and preserving their rich legacy. This significant milestone serves as a visual testament to the spirit of unity and pride that resonates throughout our community, as we collectively recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of both our military heroes and the dedicated civilian workforce. As we embark on this exciting journey together, let us embrace this opportunity to foster a deeper sense of belonging and inspire one another to actively participate in the upcoming milestones. Together, we can create a lasting tribute that not only honors our past but also ignites enthusiasm for our shared future!
