First Cycle Grant Applications Open April 5, 2021

The USTA Foundation will provide two cycles of funding in 2021. Cycle 1 will open on Monday, April 5, 2021 and close on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 11:59 PM EDT.
An informational webinar focused on Cycle 1 to assist grant applicants will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM EDT. A zoom link for the webinar will be sent via calendar invitation to the Executive Director or Leader designated in the most recent NJTL Enrollment cycle. If an additional staff member needs to be added to the invite, please email njtl@usta.com.
Prior to applying for Cycle 1 funding, all organizations must be in full compliance with the USTA Safe Play Policy by April 1, 2021. For additional details or to get Safe Play Approved, please visit www.usta.com/safeplay.
NJTL chapters which indicated "In Progress" with respect to obtaining compliance for all staff, coaches, and volunteers (as of 1/1/2021) during NJTL Enrollment must provide a list indicating compliance by April 1, 2021 using this template.
The Safe Play process can be completed at www.usta.com/safeplay. Please click the "Get Safe Play Approved" or "Check Your Status" buttons and log into your USTA account. If you are Safe Play approved, the system will display your three expiration dates. If you are not currently Safe Play approved, you will be prompted to complete the required steps.

The USTA’s Women’s Business Resource Group recently hosted a panel of experts discussing the new Professional Tennis Management (PTM) program and how students can utilize this program to “major” in tennis to pursue a variety of careers within the tennis industry. The Novo Nordisk Donnelly Scholarship is a new opportunity from the USTA Foundation to support youth tennis players.Billie Jean King established the Novo Nordisk Donnelly Scholarship in 1998 to encourage children to lead active lives and compete in tennis. Each session is available for 0.5 CEU credits for both USPTA and PTR. Select sessions are also available for 0.1 Public Parks CEU.

While we are still in a period of mourning, we are proud to welcome NY Attorney General, Letitia James; Former Deputy Director of NYC's Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, Stacy Lynch; and SIPA Professor Basil Smikle joining moderator Michael Nutter, 98th Mayor of Philadelphia and David N. Dinkins Professor of Professional Practice in Urban and Public Affairs at the School of International and Public Affairs.
These distinguished speakers, all mentees of our beloved Mayor, will share their histories and personal connections to one of his most enduring and endearing legacies: encouraging young people to choose a life of public service.

We are highlighting our 4-Star chapters for their efforts across the country serving thousands of kids in the communities they impact. This week's 4-Star spotlight is shining on Saint Paul Urban Tennis based in St. Paul, MN.

At Saint Paul Urban Tennis, youth are launched on their journey through four leadership pathways: education, employment, service, and tennis. Each pathway helps develop youth leaders who are prepared to give back to their community.
