Last week, the Agency was awarded the India Smart Grid Forum's President Award for Promotion of Smart Grids in India, in recognition of work to advance India's grid modernization efforts.  
Since 2004, USTDA has sponsored 10 smart grid activities addressing topics such as distributed energy resources, the viability of solar powered microgrids for two rural villages, and utilizing automated demand side management solutions to manage peak demand. On these activities, USTDA partnered with both public and private sector utilities, as well as U.S. companies, to pilot innovative solutions tailored to India's unique electricity needs.

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is hosting a reverse trade mission (RTM) to introduce high-level representatives from Nigeria's natural gas sector to leading U.S. technologies, equipment and services that can increase access to gas for power generation projects in Nigeria. This RTM follows USTDA's successful Business Briefing for U.S. companies at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) last May. The RTM will feature meetings with public and private sector representatives from the U.S. natural gas industry and site visits that demonstrate U.S. gas technologies and infrastructure. 

India Construction Safety Equipment Reverse Trade Mission

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is hosting the India Construction Safety Equipment Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) The event will bring public and private sector representatives of India's construction industries to the United States for a one-week visit to familiarize them with U.S. technologies, equipment, and standards The visit will introduce the delegates to U.S. companies that manufacture construction equipment that can meet India's needs as the country invests in its infrastructure development.  The RTM presents an opportunity for US companies to meet with the delegation and learn about upcoming project opportunities .

As part of the India Construction Safety Equipment Reverse Trade Mission, there will be a Business Briefing. This event will provide a forum for representatives from India's construction industries to share information with U.S. companies on their needs, upcoming procurements and plans for construction projects. U.S. companies will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the delegates.
