Clean EDGE mission in Hanoi
Director Ebong joins Clean EDGE Business Development Mission to Asia

Last week USTDA Director Enoh T. Ebong participated in the Commerce Department's first Clean EDGE business development mission to Asia! The mission, which visited Indonesia and Vietnam and included a delegation of 12 U.S. companies, follows last month’s historic signing of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) by President Biden.
 
Director Ebong joined the mission to advance the region’s clean energy goals through partnership with U.S. industry. 



Director Ebong Travels to Thailand

Following the conclusion of the Clean EDGE business development mission, Director Ebong visited Bangkok, Thailand, where USTDA has maintained a regional office for more than two decades. Highlights of the trip included discussions focused on infrastructure development with partners such as Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Digital Economy Promotion Agency, and the Phuket Provincial Government.
 
Director Ebong also met with the Ministry of Transportation and discussed our upcoming June 2022 reverse trade mission to the United States for the State Railway of Thailand!

USTDA Supports Clean Energy Commitments in Caribbean 

USTDA is proud to be part of the administration's U.S- Caribbean Partnership to Address the Climate Crisis 2030, or PACC 2030. From reverse trade missions to best procurement practices, our tools support clean energy infrastructure projects at every stage of development.
 
At this year’s Summit of the Americas, USTDA Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean Nathan Younge joined Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry and other interagency partners to affirm a shared commitment to the partnership and President Biden’s clean energy agenda.

USTDA is hosting a business briefing Thursday, June 23 at 9 a.m. at USTDA’s Business Center in Arlington, VA. Attending U.S. companies will learn about upcoming port projects and initiatives currently planned in Cote d’Ivoire including opportunities associated with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) $525 million compact with Cote d’Ivoire. The Briefing is part of USTDA’s Cote d’Ivoire’s Port Logistics Reverse Trade Mission to introduce high level port decision makers with state-of-art U.S. port technologies, services and best practices to support current and upcoming projects.

USTDA is hosting the Thailand Railway Modernization Reverse Trade Mission June 20 to July 1 to familiarize decision-makers from the State Railway of Thailand and Ministry of Transport with state-of-the-art U.S. railway technologies, best practices, financing mechanisms and regulatory frameworks and policies and to support railway modernization projects.

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is hosting a Business Briefing June 30 at 9 a.m. at the Residence Inn Chicago Downtown Loop. Attending U.S. companies will learn about upcoming rail projects and initiatives currently planned in Thailand. The Briefing is part of USTDA’s Thailand Railway Modernization Reverse Trade Mission to familiarize decision makers from the State Railway of Thailand and Ministry of Transport with state-of-the-art U.S. railway technologies, best practices, financing mechanisms and regulatory frameworks and policies and to support railway modernization projects.

Southeast Asia ACP Virtual Workshop – Planning for a Changing Industry

USTDA will conduct a SEA ACP Virtual Workshop. This USTDA-funded event is the final of a six-workshop series designed to promote aviation cooperation between the public and private sectors in the U.S. and Southeast Asia. This virtual workshop will bring together government officials and industry experts to discuss lessons air carriers and the air transportation industry have learned from experiences over the last few years. Workshop attendees will explore changes made to practices, technologies, and policies and how these changes will serve as a template for planning for and facing future challenges in the industry, such as unmanned aircraft systems, cyber-security, and autonomous ground vehicles.
