"Celebrate Fall, Celebrate Hope" Fundraising Campaign and Rock City Beer Barn will be hosting our kick off party. MBW staff and committee members will be available to discuss our program and current projects as well volunteer and donation opportunities. Whether you're a long time supporter of MBW or interested in learning more about our program, you are invited to attend this informal information session.
Hunt for a Cure
You’re invited to join the Hunt for a Cure fundraiser on Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at Sapphire Beach Bar! This exciting fundraiser will feature a competition-based treasure hunt with fifteen teams total and up to ten people per team. Cost of participation is $1,200 per team and includes transportation throughout the day, beer sponsored by St. John Brewery, bowling, pirates treasure museum and plenty of thrills along the way! Proceeds will be split between Cancer Support Virgin Islands (CSVI) & Patient Assist VI (PAVI) who will use the money to help patients fighting cancer around the VI.

Department of Finance Government Insurance Fund Rate Increase Notice
Over the last 20 years, the Virgin Islands Government Insurance Fund has collected Workers’ Compensation premiums below market rates. These premiums are used to make adequate and timely payments to employees that suffer work related injuries and file claims with the Workers’ Compensation Administration. In order to continue providing these benefits to the workers of the USVI and return the fund to solvency, there will be a premium rate increase of 62.4 percent phased in over four years beginning Jan. 31, 2020. Ian Turnbull Selected to Lead U.S. Virgin Islands Division of Festivals
Virgin Islands marketing and communications specialist Ian Turnbull has been appointed the territory-wide director of the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism's new Division of Festivals. Commissioner of Tourism Joseph Boschulte announced that Turnbull will oversee the running and marketing of all official events and festivals taking place in the territory, including the upcoming Crucian Christmas Festival to be held on St. Croix between Dec. 7, 2019 and Jan. 4, 2020. Office of the Governor, Sen. Dwayne DeGraff Join to Host Savan Neighborhood Clean-Up
The Office of the Governor and the Office of the St. Thomas-Water Island Administrator have joined Sen. Dwayne DeGraff to host the first “V.I. Pride – Keeping Our Island Clean” event with a clean-up of the historic Savan neighborhood in Charlotte Amalie Oct. 21-26. Community partners, including Community Action NOW!, Savaneros United NOW! and Comite Dominicano Pro, are teaming up to join the clean-up effort. We are asking that Savan residents, other groups or organizations come out in large numbers to participate. Read more.
2nd Annual Virgin Islands Veterans Appreciation Day
The Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs wishes to invite the territory’s veterans to an afternoon of fun in their respective districts as a part of its 2nd Annual Virgin Islands Veterans Appreciation Day. Veterans will be authorized to bring one companion to either event only if there is space available after the RSVP date of Oct. 25. Read more.
