The United Steelworkers is conducting an election for the positions of the International Executive Board. As part of the election process your Local Union will use remote electronic voting to nominate candidates for International President, International Secretary-Treasurer, International Vice President (Administration), International Vice President (Human Affairs), Canadian National Director, International Vice President at Large, International Vice President and Directors of USW Districts 3, 5 and 6.

The International Union Elections Manual provides that no candidate may be voted upon in a Local’s nomination process unless the name of that candidate has been submitted in writing by a member of the Local Union to the Local’s Secretary-Treasurer in advance. The submission must be signed, and indicate the office for which the candidate’s name is being submitted. Once a name is submitted, the name cannot be withdrawn for candidacy as the Local’s nominee except by the candidate.

If you wish to submit the name of a candidate for consideration for the identified positions, it must be received, by email, postal mail or dropped off, at the address indicated below, and by the date/time listed below:

After the submissions have been received, the Local Union will use a remote electronic voting process to enable members to determine which candidate, if any, will be the Local's nominee for each International Executive Board position up for election.

Le syndicat des Métallos procédera à une élection pour les postes du Bureau exécutif international. Dans le cadre de ce processus électoral, votre section locale utilisera un système de scrutin électronique à distance afin de nommer des candidats aux postes suivants : Président international, Secrétaire-trésorier international, Vice-président international (Administration), Vice-président international (Relations humaines), Directeur national pour le Canada, Vice-président international hors-cadre, Vice-président international, ainsi que les Directeurs des Districts 3, 5 et 6 du syndicat des Métallos.

Le Manuel des élections du Syndicat international stipule qu’aucun candidat ne peut être élu dans la procédure de nomination d’une Section locale à moins que son nom ait été soumis par écrit par un membre de cette section locale au secrétaire-trésorier de la section, à l’avance. La soumission doit être signée et indiquer le poste pour lequel le nom du candidat est soumis. Une fois qu’un nom est soumis, la candidature de celui-ci comme candidat de la Section locale ne peut être retirée que par le candidat.

Si vous souhaitez soumettre le nom d’un candidat pour l’un des postes mentionnés, votre soumission doit être reçue par courriel, par la poste ou déposée en personne à l’adresse suivante, et ce, avant la date et l’heure limite indiquées ci-dessous :

Date limite : mardi 2 septembre 2025, à 16 h 30 (heure du Pacifique)

Après réception des mises en candidature, la section locale procédera à un vote électronique à distance pour permettre aux membres de déterminer quel(le) candidat(e), s’il y a lieu, sera désigné(e) comme représentant(e) officiel(le) de la section locale pour chacun des postes en élection au sein du Bureau exécutif international.
