110 teens from Far West and Beyond gathered together for a weekend of friendship and fun. From bracelet making, to discussions, unconventional kickball to great service options, we had the best Shabbat. We raised $120.30 for SATO, welcomed 20 new members, and saw a lot of leaders shine through. Together, declaring that when we show up for one another, stick together, and lead with heart, there is always a little extra magic and sense that we are all part of the same amazing adventure.
Here is what Teens had to say:
“The main thing I love about USY is its grounding in Judaism. Whenever I am at convention I feel like everyone is very focused on providing a good Jewish experience and learning experience for everyone else which I found very enjoyable.” - Josh J.
“I liked the time we had to just hang out and have fun. I really liked the alternative Tefilah, especially the hike, I thought that option was great. With USY, I really like the community and support here.” - Zev S.
“It was cool. I got to see a lot of people I usually don’t see. That was fun. What I like about USY it really connects me with other Jews in my area and I usually don’t get that in my community especially people who are more observant.”
- Henry T.
“Sloach was probably my favorite part. I have been to like 3 other conventions and that part is always amazing. It just feels like there is so much community which isn’t something I get many other places and so thats probably what I love most about this. It feels like a community.” - Yochi K.
“Some of the highlights of the program for me were getting to meet new people and spending time at the late nights. This weekend has let me travel to new places and new people. Doing this has made me more open to more things on my life.” - Abigail F.
“The highlights were the services, sinchas, and the activities were very engaging and fun. I felt a sense that I wasn’t alone and that there were other people just like me.” - Arthur C.
“My favorite part was singing Sloach the last night. USY has made me feel more connected to Judaism and helped me make more Jewish friends.” - Lily V.
