ASK LEE |
Q: I've been having some primer feed issues on my XL 650 press and Dillon suggested it was the press "timing" that is off. I don't understand what platform alignment has to do with the primer feed system? A: Although the primer system of the XL 650 press is mounted on an extension of the press platform (#16658), the Primer Cam (#13670) is mounted on the frame. So a slight change in the rotation (or "timing") of the Platform could affect the primer system. Platform alignment is important on all RL 550, XL 650 and XL 750 presses. It is my opinion that every owner of these presses should have the Platform Alignment Tool. R: I already ordered the Platform Alignment Tool from Dillon and am still waiting for it to arrive. I'll let you know if it resolves the problem. |
