April 19, 2023
The department is thrilled to welcome the 2026 UT Southwestern Psychiatry Residents! This class is a big one, and our most diverse so far, with general residents joined by the special track residents in child and adolescent psychiatry combined training, research, and rural and public mental health. The dual residency tracks with internal medicine and neurology filled again as well, and our newest program, triple board training in pediatrics, psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry, filled in its first offering. Four fellows will come in addiction psychiatry, joining the other subspecialty fellows we welcomed in the February issue. The breadth and the diversity strike me. The competency and energy behind the faces is what we will see emerge from these young people over the course of their training. So many people in psychiatry worked so hard to recruit these trainees to our department from around the country that many thanks are due. And the diversity of the programs reflects the diversity, interests, and talents of our faculty across these areas. It portends a good (and busy) year.

Did You Know?
There is a new (and quicker!) process for approvals of research study advertising and recruiting materials. Rather than emailing the Clinical Trials inbox, all materials should be submitted for brand approval in ServiceNow (UTSW log-in required). On the form you will find space to include a deadline, and each request will receive a project tracking number.

Please note that if required for the study, all text and images must be approved by the eIRB first.
Lab Website Training
Department researchers can take Drupal training in Taleo to develop and update their lab websites. Once logged in, type "Drupal" in the search field on the left side of the page. Two options are available; select the most recent, added 11/3/2022.

NAMIWalks North Texas will take place May 6, 2023, 9am-12pm, at Riders Field.
