Dear colleagues,
Over the past 12 weeks, listening to your ideas at the retreats, in group meetings, and in 1:1 conversations, your Executive Leadership Team and I have been working on structural and procedural initiatives to support mentorship, professional development, quality of care, clinical and research integration, and communication. These initiatives include the following:
- Optimizing governance of the department for synergistic collaboration between services and divisions
- Bolstering the department divisions for more intentional mentorship and professional development
- Developing evidence-informed pathways for high quality clinical care and seamless clinical and research integration
-
Expanding the Clinical Research Infrastructure (CRI) to promote high quality and collaborative research and provide support for early career scientists
- Creating grants review and mentorship programs
- Renovating our departmental newsletter and website
You will hear more about these initiatives and others in the new year, soliciting your feedback and engagement.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all leaders in our department. Their commitment to service and innovation has been outstanding.
I wish you all and your loved ones happy holidays and a bright new start for 2025. A lot of accomplishments in 2024 to celebrate, and a lot to look forward to together in the new year!
Cheers,
Tarek K. Rajji
