August 18, 2011
We are about to experience one of the most exciting inaugural events to happen in recent history in San Antonio. As you know, The Chamber has been actively involved in the creation and development of the UTSA football program. After years of strategic planning and advocating, we are now home to the UTSA Roadrunners, an NCAA Division I football program, and their season starts September 3.
We want everyone in San Antonio to be a part of this event. To do this I am inviting business leaders to join former Chamber Chairman Red McCombs, current Chairman Sam Dawson, UTSA President Ricardo Romo, UTSA Coach Larry Coker, Mayor Julin Castro, County Judge Nelson Wolff at a breakfast to discuss how you can help us fill the Alamodome to its 65,000 capacity for the first game. Attached is information regarding purchasing blocks of single game and season tickets, which are available for as little as $8 per seat.
Football, especially in Texas, brings out the most devout fans – people who wear their favorite jerseys, paint their faces and stand in line all night to get tickets to a coveted game. We want that spirit to permiate the culture here in San Antonio for our new home team, the Roadrunners! We encourage every San Antonio business to consider using this opportunity as a means of rewarding valued employees, recognizing customers and other special relationships.
Let’s join Red in his effort to “fill ‘er up!”
Please join us as our guest for breakfast on Friday, August 19 at the Stonewerks Big Rock Grille at The Rim, 5807 Worth Parkway, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., so that you can see what corporate ticket options are available.
Thank you for your support of the Roadrunners on their inaugural endeavor and for your continued support for The Chamber’s efforts to build San Antonio. I hope to see you on the 19th. Click here to register for the breakfast.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
