Special Collection for May
May's Special Collection will be for Share the Bounty, a sustainable agriculture and food security program gathering fresh produce from farmers markets, and distributing this healthy food through local food pantries. Share the Bounty trucks the produce it receives to the  Hunger Task Force , which in turn, distributes it to the pantries and directly to consumers on Monday afternoons by the La Crosse Public Library. This program distributes over 30,000 pounds each growing season! Share the Bounty is a program of La Crosse’s interfaith network Compassionate Community Faith Alliance (CCFA).

Final "Cakes" meeting May 30th, 6:30pm

How would your life have been different if, when growing up, the divine had been imaged as female?
“Cakes for the Queen of Heaven” is a woman honoring adult religious education curriculum of feminist theology that examines pre-Judeo Christian cultures that worshiped the female as divine. The concepts of equality and reverence for the female in a religious setting are eye-opening to many participants. More than Goddess 101, this workshop series examines important elements of today’s women’s lives; personal, interpersonal and societal.
The title for the curriculum comes from the book of Jeremiah in the Hebrew Bible wherein God speaks to Jeremiah, saying: “Do you not see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The children gather wood and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough to make cakes to the Queen of Heaven and to pour out libations to the Goddess, in order to anger me!” (Jeremiah, 7:17-18). We started this class this spring and will be starting up again in Fall 2019. Watch for announcements, watch out for Jeremiah.

Interested in Helping Out at the Fellowship?

A great way to do this is to join a Hospitality Team! There are several ways to help out on a Sunday when you are a part of one of these teams: setting up, cleaning up, greeting, counting money, bringing treats, washing towels, or bringing cream for coffee. Some take no time at all, and some are more time intensive. Each team covers the Sundays in one month four times a year. You can choose whatever suits your situation, yet your participation in the well-being of the Fellowship will feel so rewarding. Contact Donna Bauer or Jen Miller at for more information.
