UU Organizations Retirement Plan Updates

Electronically Remitting Contributions:
Puzzled by a seeming delay in contributions posting to employee accounts?

Our TIAA team can help you to remit contribution data electronically using the secure TIAA PlanFocus website.

When data is uploaded, TIAA is able to efficiently apply that information to the funds received, as long as both data and funding are in good order and they balance.

For information about how to establish electronic uploads of contribution data, contact retirementplan@uua.org and include your UUA member congregation ID or TIAA employer ID, your name and role in Plan administration/remitting. Please note:
Electronic Remitting info request in your email subject line. If you like, we can also provide information about how to remit
funds electronically.

One size does not fit all:
Sometimes a church employer may require two signatures on a check, or has instituted a specific internal payment-review process which precludes remitting data using the electronic upload method. We want those UU Employers to be aware that manual processing is required in order to match and input data and funds which are sent as a check & remittance form in the mail. Thus, more time is required in order to complete the posting process.
Special Webinar: Social Security Basics

Income from Social Security is one key piece of the "floor of income" most Americans rely upon to be able to cover expenses in their retirement years.

Check out the webinar on Tuesday, February 13th at 12 noon (ET) where TIAA will help employees learn the basics of Social Security: eligibility, how to apply, how the benefit is calculated, and strategies for claiming benefits.

The Employer:

Each employer that offers the Plan is responsible for the Plan's administration. Employees who have questions about the Plan, who want to verify their employer's timely remittance of contributions, or who have questions about their eligibility can make inquiries of their employer. The employer is to provide each employee with a copy of the Employer's Participation Agreement with the Plan, as a springboard to explaining this employee benefit plan.
