You're familiar with the phrase "It takes a village to raise a child." Well, the same can be said for producing the E-Octogram every week. During this season of giving thanks, I'd like to recognize those who provide the material I piece together for each issue week in, week out. They are: Eloise Hardman, Linda Stoller, Trude Diamond, Chris Mueller, Lore Eargle, Bill Norsworthy, Megan Foley, Marlene Calderone, and those who submit material periodically for their special events or projects. Last, but by no means least, Rev. Amy, Margie Manning and Anne Gilbert for their submissions, ideas and support. Thank you all! Lauren Logan, Editor

Florida Rights Restoration Coalition

Community Outreach Recipient for November

The Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC) is a grassroots, membership organization run by Returning Citizens (Formerly Convicted Persons) who are dedicated to ending the disenfranchisement and discrimination against people with convictions, and creating a more comprehensive and humane reentry system that will enhance successful reentry, reduce recidivism, and increase public safety.

The FRRC believes returning citizens can play an essential role in strengthening our communities and increasing public safety. FRRC launched the Fines & Fees Program because they believe in the value of returning citizens’ contributions to our communities and the right to vote for those who have paid their debt to society.  This program helps returning citizens break down any barriers they may have to voting due to financial obligations such as fines, fees, or court costs. If you are having difficulty hearing in the Octagon...please check out these possible solutions:

  • The Octagon is equipped with a hearing enhancer known as a T-coil. It broadcasts directly into hearing aids. Hearing aids, both old and new, are equipped with the capability to receive the broadcast. For many hearing aids, the capability can be activated by the hearing aid provider at no cost.

  • Try sitting in one of the enhanced hearing sections, on either side of the lobby entrance doors. They are among the best seats in the Octagon!

Share a joy...share a sorrow

Each Sunday during service, we drop a stone into water to celebrate those moments when joy has entered our lives or to acknowledge moments of sorrow. Please click on link below to submit a joy or sorrow.
