Our Next Service on August 16th:
Touchstones Theme for August: Creation
Rev. Jo Green returns to UUCC to speak on “Creating Integrity.” On August 16th, she explores these questions:
  • When it comes to integrity, how do we view ourselves and others?
  • What elements of integrity affect others in our community? When we make decisions, do we consider the impact on others and the whole community?
  • How do spirituality and integrity connect?
As always, the music will be outstanding: guitarist-folksinger Mo Robinson's valuable messages, and hymns led by pianist Shauna Pickett-Gordon with singers from two UU congregations and beyond.

Touchstones Theme for September:
Worth and Dignity
Join us on September 6th for a timely conversation about mental health and mental illness. Our Worship Leader for that Sunday, Verna Barrientos, will remind us of how mental health issues touches in some way all of our lives. Verna will give a brief historical overview of the treatment of people with mental health challenges. Then she will describe how times have changed (and stayed the same). She also will share local resources. We will also have time to discuss our own stories (if we so choose) in a safe and supportive environment.
Thank you!
We especially want to thank Hugo Carr for editing and perfecting UUCC's new website. Please visit the updated website at uucoastside.org and send your comments to uucoastside@gmail.com. Next time you see Hugo, please thank him. The UUCC Planning Committee has wanted this for five years!
Webinar on Black Lives
Side With Love & UUSC is offering Taking A Collective Breath: Deepening Our Alignment with the Movement for Black Lives, a 5 session series built around the elements of the BREATHE Act beginning August 11 @ 4PM. The webinars will explore the components of the BREATHE Act and utilize its structure as a way to focus our energies to effectively support ongoing racial justice work. Come learn and build with local and national partners who are shaping conditions to make liberation possible.
