Our Next Service on October 4th:
Touchstones Theme for October:
Emotional Intelligence
Join us on October 4th to explore the theme of Emotional Intelligence. If we want to live a good life, we must weave intelligence and emotion together. Learning to do this is powerful. The Rev. Kirk Loadman-Copeland will speak on “The Wisdom of our Emotions.” Rev. Kirk is the co-editor of the Touchstones Project, which we use for our services. Our beloved musicians for that day will be Tom Devine, piano, and LindaGrace Frost, vocals.

For the Order of Service, click here.
Please join us at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time

Touchstones Theme for October:
Emotional Intelligence:
Join us on October 18th as David Marsland discusses Climate Action. Most of us are well aware of the effects of climate change and somewhat aware of the causes. More importantly, what can we do individually and collectively to reduce the magnitude and impact of climate change? Let's talk about taking Climate Action together.

David Marsland participates in UU Coastside along with his wife Verna Barrientos. David has been active in climate leadership since 2006. After seeing "An Inconvenient Truth" for the third time at a Sierra Club event, David signed up to be Global Warming chair for the Guadalupe group of the Loma Prieta Chapter. David co-led Cool Cities San José, the Sierra Club's campaign to solve global warming one city at a time. In 2009 David traveled to Copenhagen to attend the COP-15 Climate Conference.

Thank you!
Coastside CERT is just one of many local volunteer emergency response programs making a difference in our community. We'd like to acknowledge recent CERT graduates Verna Barrientos and David Marsland for becoming CERT-certified. Other CERT graduates include Chip Chandler and Bonnie Miller. CERT coordinates with Coastside Emergency Action Plan, HMB Amateur Radio Club, Large Animal Evacuation Group, Red Cross, Peninsula Humane Society, Disaster Airlift Response Team, and Medical Reserve Corps to prepare Coastside residents in case of an emergency disaster.
UU Coastside Community Photos Wanted
We're looking to add photos of people on our website and in our slideshows. If you'd like to share a photo that expresses who you are — whether helping others, reading a favorite book, dancing in your living room, anything we can share publicly — please send your photos to [email protected]. Ty is Laurel Frishman's cockatiel who sometimes joins us on Zoom services. Ty's "Happy Place" is tracking the Seattle Seahawks football scores.
Joys & Concerns:
One of the ways we weave community is by sharing aspects of our lives with each other, our joys and concerns. For our upcoming service, please email your Joys & Concerns to [email protected].
Compassionate Caring Committee:
The UUCC Compassionate Caring Committee volunteers may be able to offer our members support during life events such as post-operative, illness, or can’t go out. Do you need food delivery or an errand run? Are you feeling loneliness, loss, or grief that a call might help?

Please contact [email protected] if you’d like support or if you want to volunteer.
