As the natural world warms and awakens to the growing sun, so too do our minds and hearts find new energy. In this Beltane ritual, we will honor the theme of awakening and mindful return.

How to act for racial equity in Frederick:

The following are requests for action from our Accountability Partners, organizations for change led by people of color to whom we look for leadership:

IBM ("I Believe in Me") - They do incredible work with youth and helping people through the

NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Working hard to ensure equity in the awarding of business contracts in the county and city and to ensure that more minority teachers are hired and retained to better represent the student population of Frederick County. You can join here:

Asian American Cultural Center of Frederick - They provide many other resources to area immigrants. Several events going on through AACF including an art contest for kids K-12:

AARCH ("African American Resources, Cultural and Heritage") - check out videos and info about the museum they are opening:

RISE ("Resources for Immigration Support & Empowerment")- Check out their Facebook page including sad footage of an assault on a Hispanic man from Frederick County. Sheriff Jenkins has the footage and has not done anything despite a license plate visible in the footage:
