Among other activities in March, we will have a wonderful celebration of the life of Barbara Sprouse at 3:00 p.m. on March 14. Barbara’s long-time dedication and service to our congregation is an example of how one can make a huge difference in their retirement years. And now, like others who have gone before, she has passed the torch to the rest of us. There are many who have stepped up and continue with the same zeal and dedication. We are grateful.
Barbara’s obituary can be found at this link.

Hope to see you soon! Check out all the activities and services in this newsletter.

UUCG’s Adult Forum is designed to encourage discussion by sharing our stories and wisdom so we may “learn more about being human.” We meet on the first Sunday of the month to reinforce the “warmth of community” that calls us to attend church. Think of us as an adult Sunday School class, and join in!

We have begun a Caring Team at UUCG. These wonderful volunteers began training in February and will be the outreach and listening hearts for the congregation. Each week we will announce which Caring Team member is "on call" for the week. Please reach out to them as needed, but if you are unsure who to call you can use 912-222-6103.
Thank you to our new Caring Team Members: June Sherwood, Kent Goering, Dorin Schumacher, Judith Longfield, Vickie Monti, Phyllis Frey and Beth Stevenson.
What can you do to help make this work for our congregation? If you or someone you know at UUCG are ill or just need some smiles and love, feel very free to let us know. The more we are able to share the more the congregation can build a caring community. We ask everyone to err on the side of "yes, a hug and a little support, please". No information is shared without permission.

Highlights from the February Board Meeting
The Board of Trustees met on February 15, 2026. On the agenda:
-
A summary of the UUA Ministry Search Manual was reviewed to further define the search process and the available resources as applicable to UUCG.
-
Nominations for the Minister Search Committee (MSC) from the congregational survey were discussed and a list of possible MSC members was created. Judith Longfield agreed to contact those on the list to determine their interest in serving on the MSC.
-
The Board reviewed requirements to complete the online "Application Welcome Packet", which will be used to introduce ministers interested in applying for the position to the UUCG congregation and community.
-
Based on the follow-up by Judith with those on the list of possible MSC members, the Minister Search Committee membership was finalized as follows: Phyllis Frey, Judith Longfield (Chair), Abby Osgood, Sally Revoile, John Stevenson, and Beth Sutton. Beth Stevenson agreed to serve as chair of a congregational survey committee that will help us conduct a self-assessment in order to receive critical feedback from all members of the congregation. This process will start soon and must be completed before the search can officially start.
- Reverend Jane gave an update on worship leader/speaker scheduling and the need to select a new worship scheduler.
To provide transparency, regular updates will be shared with the congregation via Weekly Blasts on Thursdays and the Monthly Newsletters.
