“Green Peppers and Grace”
Rev. Dr. Victoria Weinstein, Worship Leader
| Thanksgiving invites us to reflect on the simplicity and importance of giving thanks to the natural world, and of feeding each other. We are currently doing a drive for requested goods for St. Stephen's Food Pantry, which is also the recipient of our 50/50 plate offering this month. | | | |

A Message from Rev. Vicki
In The Spirit
The past couple of days have been filled with conversations about cookie-baking logistics, making ornaments, counting tables at the Knights of Columbus, ordering sand for our candles bowl, thinking about Advent decor (pink poinsettias? white?), catering logistics and menus, and other organizational details that as I joked to Rev. Chris, are not what they teach in seminary! But in with all these event planning details, there are also deeper matters of life and death, as is always the case in congregational life. READ MORE

A Message from Rev. Chris
This Sunday morning children and youth will begin in the Skylight room at 10am for our opening ritual, and then we will move downstairs to continue working on our winter pageant video. Interested 7th-12th graders are encouraged to join our PreK-6th graders for this multiage project Sunday.
There will be no OWL class this Sunday evening as families head off to celebrate Thanksgiving.
With gratitude to this wonderful community,
Rev. Chris Scheller

Update on Holiday Party for LSA 🎁
On December 16th we will be joining with the Lynn Shelter Association to provide a holiday dinner and party for families in their shelters. The party will be held at the Knights of Columbus of Lynn at 177 Lynnfield Street from 6-9pm.
For many of their residents, this will probably be their first Christmas here, as many residents are migrants. While we will not need to peel potatoes for the meal since it will be catered, we can do a lot as the hosts to make people feel welcomed and festive. We will be helping decorate the hall, decorate cookies and ornaments with the children, and assist the staff in clean-up... READ MORE

Come one, come all to our Holly Jolly Sunday on December 10th! What better way to kick off the holiday celebrations? Our festivities will begin with the debut of our children’s winter video pageant during worship. Then, as Fellowship Hour starts up, all ages are invited to help prepare some treats and cheer for the Lynn Shelter Association’s holiday party. We will be baking cookies and designing festive centerpieces for them, and celebrating as well, with a catered lunch from Christopher’s Cafe of Lynn, music, and fellowship together. Elf hats and holiday sweaters are encouraged!
Please RSVP HERE so that we can be sure to order enough food.
This event will take the place of our Sunday Evening Community Meal scheduled for that evening to focus our energy on this special event.

Need a gift for your holiday host? Consider giving organic, fair trade teas, coffee, decadent hot cocoa, or cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil (made from organic Nabali olives, one of the highest quality oils in the world)! These are all conveniently available every Sunday at coffee hour in the Parish Hall.

At 2pm on Thursday, November 16th, the Poetry Salon at Abbot Public Library in Marblehead will discuss the poems of our own Clemens Schoenebeck. Clem has published two books: “Dancing with Fireflies,” a memoir, and “Where the Time Went,” a book of poems. His poems invite us to see possibilities of joy in the everyday, be it garden flowers or the Brahms Requiem, a brilliant sunset, or the sterling qualities of a friend.
Join Clem at the event in the Program Room at Abbot Public Library (Interim Space), 3 Brook Road, Marblehead. To attend via Zoom, register using this link (no registration necessary to attend the program in person).
