In the Spirit

Sundays are our big day of the week for re-orienting ourselves towards our deepest values and the life of the soul. The worship service brings us together in community, and fellowship hour afterward helps us strengthen the ties that we create all year ‘round-- and also gives us an opportunity to extend hospitality to newcomers and visitors who are looking for a spiritual home.

This Sunday morning, children and youth will start separately, in the Skylight room right at 10am, for their own opening rituals, and children and youth of all ages are invited! We will be exploring our winter video project, as well as putting together some dinner bags for My Brother’s Table guests, to help out with our congregation’s larger efforts in partnering with that wonderful organization.

One of the joys of the fall for me is seeing our church programs and groups start up again that had taken a break over the summer. Our Sunday morning program is off to a great start this year with some new and returning faces. We have had some fun with games to help us get to know each other better, and have started bonding together, which is so helpful in working together on the various projects we’ll be doing this year, including producing another winter video to share with the congregation around the holidays.

Organic fair trade chocolate bars, teas, coffee, and cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil are all conveniently available every Sunday at coffee hour in the Parish Hall. Don't have cash or a check handy? You can pay for these on our website at uucgl.org/donate!
