Reflection...Flower Communion
On Sunday, June 16, we will celebrate Flower Communion ~
a beloved Unitarian Universalist tradition that was started by Rev. Norbert Capek in Czechoslovakia in 1923. Rev. Capek's vision was to create a meaningful ritual which would bring
a richly diverse congregation
together as one.
Flower Communion is a ritual which celebrates
both our individuality and our bonds of community.
As part of this community celebration, everyone is invited to bring with them a flower or twig to contribute to our shared bouquet, and everyone will have the opportunity to choose a flower to take home.
This ritual act symbolizes our acceptance of one another and that we each give and receive from the treasury of grace.
Please join us for this long-standing UU ritual on Sunday, June 16
